Rental

Well our tenant Arlene moved out on April 1st and that same day that they were getting the rest of their stuff this guy named Justin called and said he was interested in renting the house. He had to go to work then came back just an hour later with his mom to look at it and basically rented it right away.

We normally have like at least a month to get the house all painted and cleaned up and ready to be rented but this time we had 48 hours. Of course we couldn’t find the right shade of white to do touch ups on the walls so Darrin ended up getting a whole new color, Antique white which meant blocking and straight lines which took way more time. We were up until 3am working then had to wake up at like 8am to go finish it all up. What a chore but it’s all done and the place has a tenant which is the most important thing.

New Glasses

February 23 2006 is the last time I had an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. So this year was the year that I could finally get a new pair of glasses on medi-cal. You can only get a new pair of glasses every two years. I picked out a nice pair I guess and my eye exam proved that my prescription has changed a lot. They said it would take about three weeks for the glasses to come and I ordered them on March 05, 2008.

Costco

We went to Costco today, I bought some shampoo, body wash, deodorant, laundry soap, trash bags and yogurt. All but the yogurt will most likely last 6 months or longer so I guess money well spent hehe. It was about $65. It was a good buy though, 200 loads of laundry or something and I think 200 garbage bags. Wow! Not bad. Oh and 4 sticks of deodorant. That will last a long time since I only use it when I need to. Being lazy has its advantages hehe.

New Bathroom

I tried blogging this morning but couldn’t because our internet was on the fritz so before I go to bed I thought I’d blog.

We finally got a new toilet (YAY) so now when we flush we don’t have to stand and wait for the water to go down and then sometimes the old toilet wouldn’t go down so you’d have to wait for the tank to fill and try to flush again. Oh and the old toilet you’d have to literally stand there holding the handle until the water went down all the way. You couldn’t just flush and go hehe.

So it’s nice having a new one. We also have new wallpaper and tile for the floor. Now instead of looking like a woman lives here it looks like men live here heh. Darrin seems to be doing all the work though because it’s not the biggest bathroom so it’s a bit too cramped for both of us to be in there.

Darrin Was Robbed at Gun Point

Tonight Darrin had to go to the ATM machine across the street to deposit $110 so he could pay his credit card bill when that cleared and when he got there he grabbed his sears card instead of his debit card so he had to walk back home. This guy was sitting on the brick wall across the street from the ATM machine watching him and saw Darrin go across the street and turn onto 3rd street and waited until Darrin got up to the front door then robbed him.

He held the “gun” up to his neck and said this is a robbery give me all your money. Well Darrin had the $110 ($100 dollar bill and 2 $5’s) and handed it to the guy and the guy started digging into his pockets. Luckily he didn’t find the rest of the money, he was in too much of a hurry so he took off. Darrin isn’t quite sure if it was a gun or if it was the guys finger but when you are in this situation there isn’t time to think. He could have taken the keys and the car or possibly come into the house and robbed both of us.

Bye Bye Guest Book

Well I retired the guest book permanently. Nobody signs it except for spammers. So it’s gone for good. It would’ve been nice if my friends had signed it instead. I don’t know why people go through the trouble of visiting my website just to find a form to spam it.

My Laptop

My laptop has been driving me nuts cause it’s so slow when it loads. Last night I made a backup of the hard drive onto an external drive so this morning I can reformat but the DVD drive wont read the windows cd so I just decided to just clean it up which is what I should have done in the first place. The hard drive only had 7% free space and now it has 32%.

New Theme

The Puzzled Gold theme and the Wood Work theme seem to be going neck and neck with each other. I’m going to let this poll continue for a few more days and then I will change my theme. If it’s puzzled I don’t have to do anything since I already own that theme but if it’s wood work then I buy it and change the theme. I’m pulling for puzzled though hehe.
