The Bakersfield Californian Tabloid

Bakersfield, CA is going to change their newspaper to the size of the tabloid.  It’s already only a few pages per section so I guess they are going to just change it completely so it’s like a magazine.  I guess nothing good goes on in this town that they just don’t have anything to report.

The Bakersfield Californian will change to a tabloid-size product on Monday through Friday starting on Monday, Aug. 17. One of its many benefits is a unique new Classifieds section complete with color-coded sections for ease of use.

That is a quote from their Facebook page.  You know they charge .80 cents for their paper and then the store charges you .05 cents on top of that.  So we pay .85 cents for the newspaper that takes Darrin 10 minutes to read lol.  It’s kind of a rip off if you ask me.  I personally don’t ever read the newspaper, why should I when I can just watch the news you know?  I don’t care about the classifieds, cartoons, obituaries etc.

What I want them to do is put their newspaper on the Kindle because I really want an excuse to get a Kindle lol so maybe if it were kindlized I might buy a Kindle.  I already asked them and they said that they have a digital version but in a PC only program.

I bet you anything if they change to tabloid sized newspaper the price will go up again.

Dunkin’ Cruelty?

I just read an update on Facebook by someone who is a comedian Carol Leifer and she is asking people to support this.  It’s called Dunkin’ Cruelty.  It’s a website that someone has created, most likely someone from PETA, to urge people to beg Dunkin’ Donuts to stop using eggs and dairy in their donuts.

You know, I am all for helping animals from animal cruelty and all but how exactly is this going to impact the egg and dairy industry?  First of all they are urging them to stop using eggs AND dairy yet they only talk about how cruel the chickens are treated, not about the cows.  And 2nd of all, what the hell do you think they serve at EVERY restaurant in the world?  Eggs and Dairy.  So why is it that out of all the restaurants in the whole world you are pickin’ on Dunkin’ Donuts?

How horrible are their donuts going to taste with no eggs in them?  I mean seriously.  Why not just boycott Dunkin’ Donuts and get it over with instead of begging them to bland up their donuts?  How exactly do you make a donut without eggs?

I guess I don’t see the point in this.  Human beings need eggs for protein and they need dairy to build strong bones.  Eggs are not fertile, they aren’t going to be a future chicken since they are not fertilized by a male and the milk is produced by cows daily anyway so why can’t all the carnivores enjoy their eggs and milk and leave us alone?

Microsoft and Yahoo Vs. Google

I saw on Fox News this morning that Microsoft and Yahoo are going to merge and Yahoo will start using Microsoft’s Bing search engine.  I don’t know why.  Anyway, they said that Google has been kicking Yahoo’s ass in the search engine department so MS and Yahoo are going to combine to kick Google’s ass.

Shep on Fox said that Bing seems to be a way better search engine but I don’t know about that.  I just did a Bing search for my name “Xanapus” and it didn’t seem that special to me.  It has a pop up on the right side of each item that shows you whats in there but who really cares about that?  It’s not a little mini image of the page, its text.  I don’t see how it’s better than Google personally.

Also, a few nights ago we went to visit friends of ours and when I went to look up the directions I opened Windows Live Mail (which I find easier than Outlook Express) and opened up the address book to copy the address to paste in Google maps but the address was a link so I clicked it and up came Bing Map.  After awhile trying to figure out just how I was supposed to get directions to that address I finally printed the directions with a map.  Well, those directions got us lost because they put us somewhere else.  They told us to turn left when we were supposed to go to another street 2 streets up on the right.  We ended up having to call to find out which street to go to and found out right and not left.

Google in my opinion is way better for search engines and for maps.  I’m probably not going to change.  There are some aspects of Google I don’t care for like Google Chrome browser because it doesn’t give me my Yahoo toolbar.  I’m kinda sorta looking forward to Google Chrome OS only because of the claim that it starts up faster than Windows but we will see if I can still use my Windows software since it will be Linux-based.  One service of Google’s that I do love is their free 1-800-GOOG-411.

Woman Decapitates and Eats Parts of Her Son

Holy cow dude!  There is this woman in San Antonio Texas who killed and ate parts of her baby.  Here is the article from the Times.

A Texas woman decapitated her newborn baby and ate pieces of his body before turning a knife on herself, police said Monday.

The woman was covered in blood and screaming: “I killed my baby, I want to die” when police arrived at the modest San Antonio home.

“She mentioned that someone or something told her to do it and she was hearing voices, so that leads us to believe she was experiencing some kind of mental crisis,” said police spokesman Joe Rios.

The woman had separated from the baby’s father about a week earlier and was living with her mother and sister, who were helping to care for the baby born on June 30.

The woman was discovered around 4:30 am Sunday by her mother, who found her holding the decapitated baby.

She appeared to have ingested parts of her child after attacking him with a knife, Rios said.

“She was biting on the head,” Rios told AFP.

Otty Sanchez, 33, was charged with capital murder and remained in hospital Monday.

I saw on a video by AustinVanDusen on YouTube that this lady said that the devil told her to do it.  Yeah…. ok whatever lady.  What if “god” told her that her baby would be a future Hitler or maybe the “devil” told her that her baby would be a future saint then I can see that as her reason but as far as I know it was just that the devil told her to do it.  Ok sure.  Whatever.  First of all I don’t believe in the devil so I can’t believe that something I don’t believe in would be going around telling people to kill and ingest their baby.

This woman is a real ghoul, she’s a zombie.  Why is it that these people are allowed to procreate yet I’m told by the state of California that I can’t even get married.  I get so sick of being human sometimes.

14 Years Old and 555lbs.

Should mom of 555-pound boy be charged with neglect?

That is an article on the SparkPeople website.

The mother claims that she works too much and doesn’t always have any time to give her child the right foods.  She buys fast food for him all the time for his dinner and he has reached a very dangerous weight.  Can you imagine being 14 years old and weighing 555lbs?  I certain cannot.

Ok some may say that because he is 14 years old he is old enough to feed himself but come on, when I was that age if it were up to me I’d be eating candy bars and cake and ice cream for dinner every night.  You cannot let a 14-year-old make that decision on his own unless you have already taught him from birth the right foods to eat.

When I was a kid my mother fed me the right kinds of foods and I was always very very thin.  Ok so I wasn’t model thin but I had a small waistline.  Mainly because I was very active on my bike and running from bully’s and also during P.E. class they always had us running around.  There were times that my family went to McDonald’s to eat dinner and we went to other dining restaurants for dinner too, not just fast food.  My favorite place to go was Bob’s Big Boy (which I’m happy they are coming back to Bakersfield YAY).  But I wasn’t given that everyday so I knew that you weren’t supposed to eat that crap on a daily basis.  Not just because it’s not very good for you but because back then it was expensive.  The burgers were about $2.50 or so and you know, in the 70’s and 80’s money was always tight so it wasn’t too often that we would go there.  It was cheaper for my mom to go to the store.

Personally I think that this kid should be taken away from the mother because they gave her lots of chances to help her son get down in weight by teaching them better eating habits and the mother refused to comply so they took him.

This woman needs to get a better job where she is able to pay more attention to her son so she can walk with him and maybe get him a gym membership.  Go there with him every day to make sure he does what he is supposed to and not just sitting down listening to his iPod outside in the front of the gym.  She needs to take responsibility for HER actions in getting her kid fat.  If you don’t then your child needs to be in a better home environment.

Well, that’s just my opinion, 1 opinion out of probably billions.

Star Struck or Struck By Too Many Stars

This guy named Rouslan Toumaniantz tattooed 56 stars on this girls face after she asked for stars to be tattooed to her face.  Here is a quote:

“Toumaniantz claimed that Vlaeminck agreed to have the tattoos done: “Kimberley agreed to everything, she was very happy with my work. I have a witness who saw everything.”

Now she says that she is ugly, disfigured and can’t even go out anymore, not even to work.

By the way, she fell asleep during this procedure.  She fell asleep.  How the heck do you fall asleep while someone is putting needles on your skin especially on your face?  The only way someone is going to fall asleep and endure this much pain is if you have numbed your pain with some kind of drug or alcohol.  That is why it is illegal to tattoo someone while they are intoxicated because they can’t be responsible for the tattoo they are about to ask for because they might have been influenced to get it and they don’t remember.

The amount of money that she will have to pay to have the stars removed is $13,000 (converted to US dollars – according to fox news) and he has agreed to pay for half of it.  If he has a witness stating that she was happy with it and she asked for it then I don’t see why he should have to pay a dime.  But considering it was on the face and she wasn’t covered like he is with tattoos then he should have had her written consent first.

Fine for Watering Lawn

I don’t know if it is just Kern County or if it is all of California or what but I saw on the news today that the city is banning watering of the lawn except for Mondays and Thursdays before 5am and after 4pm.  You cannot water your lawn except on those 2 days or you will get a $300 fine.

Well if that’s the way it’s going to be then our lawns are going to die because I’m never going to remember that.  I’m probably going to remember to water the lawn on a Wednesday at noon then start watering.  Then I will probably hear the doorbell ringing and have it be Bakersfield Police with a ticket for watering my lawn.  Bogus!

What about back yards?  They can’t monitor people’s back yards.  I just think the whole idea stinks.  I can understand the drought problem and I respect that they are trying to save water but $300 fine for forgetting that I can only water 2 days a week only before 5am and after 4pm?  That’s stupid to do that.  They don’t realize that in Bakersfield it gets so hot and so dry that the lawn dies if it’s not watered everyday.  Twice a week isn’t going to keep my lawn alive.

Well, maybe that’s a good thing then because then I won’t have to mow it as much.

Streakers To Become Sex Offenders?

Streaker or Sex Offender? Laws Don’t Always Differentiate

Last November 12 college guys went streaking with pumpkins on their heads in Colorado.  I just heard about this this morning on the Fox News channel.  They 12 are facing sex offender status for their antics because they were nude.

Are you joking me?  We are all born naked.  Not one of us is born with a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt saying “I was just in the birth canal and all I got was this lousy t-shirt”.  That is such a joke because there are countries in Africa where people live as nudists.  There are even nudist colonies in America.

What about all the people who are naked on their webcam posing for porno websites?  What about all the people who pose naked for PlayBoy and Penthouse and all the other nudie magazines?  What about all the women who show their tits during Mardi Gras?  Are they going to be sex offenders?

These 12 college guys should have been given a ticket, maybe a few hours of community service and a slap on the wrist and that’s it.  They shouldn’t have to register as a sex offender just for being naked.  They weren’t raping and molesting women and children so give them a break.  It was a college prank for Halloween.

This government needs to lighten up.  They are such tight ass prudes.

Anthony’s on CBS Early Show

The parents of Casey Anthony were on the CBS Early Show this morning.  It was only a 10 minute interview but tomorrow they will have part 2.

They were very soft spoken today, not argumentative or anything negative like they have been lately.  When asked a question that Cindy did not like, she looked over to her attorney to respond for her.  She looked like she was about to fly off the handle but thought to herself that it’s counterproductive to overreact.

They know that they need to start being a lot more softer to the public because their credibility has gone out the window so they are trying to rebuild that.  Without credibility they won’t be able to help their daughter when this comes to trial.

Oprah was supposed to do this interview with them in late April but she backed out.  She was probably afraid that it wouldn’t go very good or maybe perhaps Oprah isn’t so sympathetic and knows about Cindy and George Anthony’s credibility and does not want to help them fix it.  Who really knows for sure but they can count that out.  Oprah would’ve been a lot better for them than the CBS Early Show.

Last Week In Obama

Last week President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama visited the Queen of England and there was a question of whether Michelle broke protocol by putting her arm around the Queen (touching her) but apparently it was no big deal because the Queen put her arm around Michelle first.

There is a tradition I guess that the Queen and heads of state exchange gifts to one another.  The Obama’s gave the Queen an iPod with all of Barack’s speeches and the Queen gave the Obama’s a signed painting of herself.

An iPod of all your speeches?  Really?  Is that what you are giving her?  Are you kidding me?  Do you really think that she wants to hear your voice drone on for hours and hours?  Look, I don’t hate our president but I certainly would not want to hear his voice for hours on end.  If someone gives me an iPod, I’d like it to be blank so I can put what I like on there.  The Queen already has her own iPod so what, she’s supposed to have 2?  You know that she gave it to one of her servants and they erased it and put Elton John on it.

Another thing happened last week in Obama.

As you can clearly see in this video, Barack Obama bows to Saudi King Abdullah at the Group of 20 summit in London last week.  Can you believe this guy?  No heads of state have ever, ever bowed to the Saudi King ever.  Bowing to the Saudi King is reserved only for his subjects.  People who are beneath him, not someone who is his equal.

“Mr. Obama later said in Strasbourg, France, “We have to change our behavior in showing the Muslim world greater respect.” Symbolism is important in world affairs. By bending over to show greater respect to Islam, the U.S. president belittled the power and independence of the United States.”

That was a quote from the Washington Times.  Is he joking?  “WE” have to change our behavior in showing the Muslim world greater respect?”  What about the respect they show the rest of the world?  Huh?  This is just showing more and more to me that he is a Muslim and not a Christian.  He even did his first tv interview with a Muslim TV show as President of the United States.  What does that show about him?

I just don’t see why people love him so much and why he was voted as president.  Why people voted for a muslim during a war with MUSLIMS but they wouldn’t vote for a patriot.  I personally don’t get it.  This guy is proving how dumb Americans are with every act.
