R.I.P. Trolls and Cyberbullying on Facebook

I know you have heard of cyberbullying, but have you ever heard of R.I.P. Trolls?  I have never even heard of that until today.  Apparently there are people out there with hearts as cold as ice and as small as a grain of sand, no, even smaller than that, so they troll R.I.P. memorial pages and say something nasty to the deceased person.  As if things weren’t bad enough for them while they were alive, they are still being bullied after death.

I have three examples.  Naturally I had to pixelize all of the names and their images, not just to protect the innocent victims, but also to protect the bully.  Yes you heard me right, I wouldn’t want the bully to come after me for posting their name and then turn around and call me the bully for showing their name despite the fact that they are the bullies.

This “Stay at home dad” decided it would be funny to share a page called Zombie… (the person’s name has been in the news and her mother was not convicted of murder, you know who I mean) with an abortion survivor’s timeline.  Who would create a page calling someone a zombie after they were allegedly murdered by their mother who got acquitted?  What kind of person does such a thing?  Well, I went to click on that page to report it and it was already gone, so one down…

This was posted on a justice page for a child who was recently murdered while wearing a hoodie in Florida.  The message is “Taste the rainbow, (name omitted) I wonder what flavor of hollowpoints got dug out of his chest!”  What sick bastard would post this?  I reported that person for posting that image on that R.I.P. memorial page.  Take a look at some of the comments.  The first one says “that’s not funny bitch” and she replied, but the comment is gone now so apparently she thought twice about what she was saying and removed it, who knows.  The second person asked if this was supposed to be funny and the third person laughed.  What is this world coming to when people laugh at a picture like this?

This person was just downright disrespectful to many R.I.P. pages.  What kind of person does this?

I love computers and I love the internet, but when people sit in their house with total anonymity and post hateful things like this, there has to be some recourse.  You can’t just think that it’s OK to be an asshole and nothing will happen.  You can’t go up to a person and start calling them names without being slapped or punched in the face, so why would you go on the internet and type hurtful comments on their Facebook wall, especially after they died?  You wouldn’t like it if you died and someone typed “LOL u died” on your memorial page would you?  Think about other people’s feelings, put yourself in their shoes before you post negative comments like that, because someday that might be your R.I.P. page.

If you want to see who is posting these hateful things, join the Facebook page “United Against RIP Trolls and Cyberbullies.”  Click LIKE and scroll through their page and start reporting the bullies because that is the only way we are going to rid Facebook of all the hate.  When Facebook see’s that people are reporting them, their accounts will suddenly disappear.  Perhaps one day cyber bullies will be held accountable for their actions.

Check this article out.  It was written/posted on April 3rd 2012.  Anti-bully law could turn trolls into criminals.  I don’t believe in censorship because we all have a first amendment right to free speech, even if it’s hate speech, but where do we put our foot down and say that there is a huge difference between the two?  There needs to be a discussion about where we draw the line with hate speech because I just can’t see why the law would protect people who want to insult other people for shits and giggles.

Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 3

I didn’t watch Season 1 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey because I was taking a stand against the real housewives reality shows because I hated the OC housewives.  Once I started watching Season 2 of NJ I loved it and changed my mind about the whole thing.  That’s how good these ladies were, they converted me.

After all of the Danielle drama I decided that season 2 was enough drama for me and that I wouldn’t watch it again.  They have already had a few episodes that I haven’t watched but this morning I got my Hulu email with new shows and episode 1 of the new season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey was in there so I thought what the heck, I’ll check it out.

Edit: In the past it has taken Hulu a few weeks to show the first episode of the Bravo shows so I was wrong, they haven’t had a few episodes already.

I’m not surprised that there would be as much drama as there was but I wasn’t expecting it would come from Teresa’s Brother Joe.  I mean, I don’t know him but I kind of figured that if there was going to be some drama it would have come from his wife, not him.  I mean, the show isn’t about the husbands, it’s about the wives.  It seems like he has hijacked the show on the very first episode and I don’t really care to see the rest of the season because of him.

All he did in the entire episode was bitch and complain like a spoiled little brat about how his sister ignores him.  Oh boo freakin’ hoo, grow up!  He sat at the table at the reception at his baby boys christening whining and complaining about his sister.  It’s your son’s day, not yours or your sisters, give it a rest and enjoy yourself, don’t sit there bitching about your sister when you should be focusing all of your energy on your son.

It’s too bad I won’t be watching it because I really love the Manzo’s and Teresa and Jacqueline and I really would have liked to see them in this new season.  I follow most of them on Twitter, Albie, Chris, Caroline and Teresa, I even follow Danielle lol.  I’ve even tried responding to some of the things that Albie and Chris tweet but have gotten no response which isn’t surprising even though Kyle Richards used to tweet me back all the time but whatever.

So, no more housewives for me, I’m done.  I like some of the people on the show, I just can’t handle the drama emotionally, you know?  It breaks my heart to see these people being verbally and physically abusive with each other.  I know its real life but why does real life have to be so violent?

I think the reason it hurts me so much to watch is because that is how my childhood was and I hated every second of it so I have taken a stand against violence by not inviting it into my life and by watching these violent people on tv, it’s inviting it in and I just have to kick it out.  I still love the people, I just don’t want to see them beat each other up every week.

Naughty Words on TV

I’ve been watching TV for a very long time.  At least 36 of my 38 years that I can remember.  I remember when I Love Lucy couldn’t say 1 bad word.  It actually wasn’t until the 80’s when the Golden Girls started saying Bitch.  Then before you know it, cop dramas started saying Shit.  Hey, if they can say it on TV, then I can say it in here.

The cartoon South Park says a lot of bad words like God Damn.  They say it all the time.  That’s like the ultimate bad word because it has God in it.  You can’t say that on tv.  Well, apparently they can because they do and they’ve carried it over to every other show on tv.

Now, this word I know isn’t a bad word, in fact it’s just silly.  Douche Nozzle.  I’ve been calling people a douche bag for years since I was in junior high school, even though I had no clue what it was until high school.  But you know, people have been saying that as long as douche’s have been around I’m sure.

Last night, on Knight Rider, the female lead Sarah called Michael a douche nozzle lol.  I was like OMG I can’t believe she just said that.  Yeah I’ve heard it in the movies but I’ve never heard it on TV coming from a woman.  And I don’t mean that to sound like a double standard so I don’t want to get emails or bad comments but you know, I was shocked to hear it from HER.  LOL

Google 411

I just got an email about this.  It’s new Google 411.  Wow, is google going to start making cell phones next?  Oh wait, they do!  What about microwaves or television sets or dishwashers?

Well, this new thing is actually a very good thing.  Before I had blogged about 411 calls now costing $1 per call and that you can call 1-800-free-411 but you have to endure listening to a 15-30 second advertisement.  But, this is even better because there are NO advert’s and they automatically collect you to who you want to call.  I’ve added 1-800-goog-411 to all our handsets in the house and to my cell phone and you should too.

If you have a cell phone with internet or with maps or whatever they will send you a map for your GPS so you can get there and/or they will text message you the information you asked for but you have to tell them that.  Oh it’s also a recording so you won’t talk to a person but their voice recognition software is pretty good so you probably won’t have to.  Hey, don’t bitch about it, it’s free.

Call 1-800-goog-411 or visit their website at www.google.com/goog411

Update: As of November 12th 2010 Google has shut down their free 411 service.  It’s a shame because it was pretty frickin’ awesome.

Bike Repairs

I rode my bike to the store the other day and I noticed that my back tire has been going flat and it wont stay inflated and so today I decided to go through my boxes in the closet to find the inner tubes that I got when I got the bike originally. When I bought the bike I bought those tire tubes that have the green goo inside of them which is supposed to fix your puncture if you run over a tack or a nail but I didn’t know that it doesn’t protect the sides, just the outer part. So, I took the back tire off and pumped the tube up by itself and held it under water which is what you do to find the leak. Found it, fixed it. All new again hehe.

Then I realized that the seat was really too high up so I lowered it and boy does that make a hell of a difference. So, I feel accomplished today hehe. I rode it over to our neighbors and back and I noticed it wasn’t stopping fast enough so I got off the bike and looked and my front and back brakes are shot lol. Which means I better not even think about getting on it until I go to Snyder’s Cyclery to buy some brakes and while I’m there I want to see their lights and a helmet. Not too many people wear helmets so I’d probably look dorky but I’d rather look dorky than dead.

When I was 16 my parents bought me a bike and they bought me this light set that had front and back lights that ran on a generator (the back wheel and my peddling was the generator) so I’d like to see if they have something similar to that, those are a bit more difficult to steal because it’s a lot of work to get it on so it must be a bitch to get off. I do recall how horrible the lighting was for the headlight. Every time you start to slow down the light started to fade away lol. I’d like to see if they’ve made improvements on that system.
