The Fated Chronicles by Humphrey Quinn

I bought two books in the “We Witches Three” series (image below) because there was something in there that said that it was like “Charmed”. I was very intrigued and I wanted to read it. Well, I started reading the first one, and I saw where it said that it was part of a series of books from Humphrey Quinn, so I looked at the first one and decided, okay, I’ll just buy the first book and read that first so that I’ll be caught up and I won’t be lost, once of course I finish that series up until the “We Witches Three” series.  The fated Chronicles volume 1 was actually free. I guess that’s where they get you hooked.

I discovered at the end of “The Fated Chronicles: Volume 1” that the “We Witches Three” series is a stand-alone series, so I didn’t have to do that, but I really enjoyed reading “The Fated Chronicles Volume 1”.

These two kids who are twins that are turning 13 are living in a trailer with their Uncle Arnon and are constantly on the run. They go to their usual summer camping spot, and they run into a group of people who are very secretive and don’t like outsiders.

I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’m just going to leave it at that. There’s magic and that’s pretty much enough reason for me to read.

I bought volume 2 to start reading tomorrow because I don’t want to be left on a cliffhanger LOL.

If you are wondering why I’m even posting this, I like to post books that I like to read. Nobody asked me to, I just wanted to let other people know there are good books out there to read. This book is not difficult to read at all, so a child or teenager could read it with no problem.

If you decide that you want to read it, let me know and let me know how you liked it. The volume 1 book, as I said before, is free, so you don’t really have anything to lose. These are the Kindle version of the books, by the way. I rarely ever buy paperback books because of my bad eyes. Ebooks are just easier and they don’t collect dust.

Thank you for reading my ramblings.

Merlin on NBC

Tonight Merlin was on NBC.  There were 2 1 hour episodes and considering magic is one of my most favorite things to watch on TV I just had to watch it.  I was a little bit disappointed that the King banned magic or face death but I guess it will make it even more interesting to watch.

As I said there were 2 1 hour episodes.  I completely forgot it was going to be on so I almost missed it.  I IM’d a friend of mine who I know wanted to see it so I reminded her and she didn’t even know it was 2 hours either so she had to go into the program on her VCR to add the extra hour.  She records it then watches it the next day.  I on the other hand have to watch shows on their premiere night so I can turn around and come here and post my comments.

I liked it.  There, I said it.  Keep in mind that my kind of show is more of a modern day show with cars and computers and the use of telephones instead of horses, abacus and shouting at each other but it was good.

The actor who played Merlin looks very young like he’s 17 or 18 years old, he’s very skinny but he plays the role great.  I loved how at the beginning he didn’t have to say anything to cast spells, it just happened.  That was pretty cool.

Now next week he will be exposed and face death but you can’t believe he will because they just started the show, why would they throw the towel in after 3 episodes?  Now when I say exposed, I mean the King finds out he is a wizard, not that he dropped his towel in front of someone lol.  Come on people, get your mind out of the gutter.  Oh wait, that was my mind.

Anyway, hope everyone else enjoyed/enjoys Merlin Sunday’s on NBC.  Ding ding ding.

A Spell for Chameleon

I’ve started reading the Xanth series of novels starting with the very first one called A Spell for Chameleon.  I’m not exactly sure why they named it for “Chameleon” but I’m sure I will figure it out.

It’s about this guy named Bink who never found his magical talent and he has to go to the Good Magician Humphrey and find his magical talent in exchange for 1 year of service.  If he doesn’t find his magical talent he could be exiled forever from Xanth and he doesn’t want that.  He wants to marry his girlfriend Sabrina but he can’t if he has no magic.

On his long journey to find this magician he faces lots of obstacles like Centaurs, dragons, illusionists etc.

I’ve only read 5 chapters so far, the 6th chapter begins with him finding the castle where the good magician lives.  I had to stop reading though because my eyes get blurry after a while.  But this is a very good book.  Unfortunately, it’s a loooong story.  It only shows 17 books in the series in the front of the book but someone told me there are 24 and I’m only on book 1 lol.  I have ways to go.
