Epoch-Man Arrived

IMAG0896

I received my Epoch-Man several days ago, but I didn’t blog about it immediately because, well, I mean who really cares? Am I right? Do you? Probably not.

When I bought my Epoch-Man, I blogged that I bought it from eBay really inexpensive for only $10 plus shipping from Japan. The reason it was only $10 was because it has scratches and some of the LCD graphics don’t show up when you are playing the game. Well, I discovered that if you press the front and back near the Alarm button, those graphics will appear. I noticed that the case isn’t completely closed from the bottom, and I thought perhaps if I unscrewed it and took it apart, perhaps I might relieve something that is stuck inside the game that is causing this to happen, but as I was trying to open the case, the sides started to crack, old plastic and all, so I aborted the mission and put the screws back in. It’s not like I’m going to be playing the game or anything.

Anyway, it’s wonderful to actually have it in my hands and to be able to look at it once again after all these years, even though my original Epoch-Man game did not say Pak Pak man on the top in red letters, it said Epoch-Man. That doesn’t matter, it’s the same thing, so who cares.

I am very happy that I was able to get it and at such a great price. I will keep it in the plastic to keep it from getting dirty and dusty and to prevent more scratches.

Lego Batman Nominated For Award

It’s not the kind of award.  This is a “TOADY” which means it’s the worst toy of the year.

Lego Batman nominated for award for toys inappropriate for children

Personally, I like this game.  I think that it’s a pretty cool game.  But I like all the Lego games because I liked Lego when I was a kid.  I would play for hours building stuff then taking them apart and starting over again making something else.

The claim is that it promotes violence and sexuality to children.  LMAO are you kidding me?  WHAT THE F?  Uh, ok, what about World of Warcraft?  EverQuest?  You have got to be kidding me.  There is no sexuality in Lego Batman.  You can’t play a video game without violence.  Even Pac-Man ate the ghosts and the ghosts would kill him.  Are you going to tell me that Pac-Man promotes violence towards ghosts?

I have the Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman games and they are all good games and I would personally let my children play with them.  This is absolutely ridiculous that they are doing this.

One of the claims is that when this game was being advertised, McDonald’s was selling Happy Meals with a lego batman character as the toy.  So freakin what!  They are saying that this is promoting violence, sexuality and bad health.  Excuse me?  You don’t have to get soda in the happy meal, you don’t have to get fries but instead they offer apple slices.  Basically, you don’t even have to get the meal for your kid, just go to McDonald’s, buy the happy meal, eat the burger and fries and drink the little tiny soda then give your kid the toy, believe me, he/she won’t even know the difference because all they want is the toy.

McDonald’s has teamed up with Disney since the 80’s that I know of to sell Disney related toys to children in their happy meals.  I used to work there so I would know first hand.  Every time there was a Disney movie out they would make toys to go in the happy meals.  This is not new and exclusive to Lego Batman.

I say to all the people who are so worried about this… get a freakin life.  Worry about the war, about our economy.  Pick your battles.

Old Arcade Games

I was at the PSP page today just browsing through all the games they have on there and I noticed they had these collections and one of them had like 50 Atari 2600 games and so I looked at the pictures and of course it is indeed the old 2600 games which were so bad but to 1980’s standards, well, let’s face it, they were still bad then lol.

My cousins had Atari 5200 and it was more similar to the arcade games than the 2600 was. I was very jealous. My other cousin Stephen had a Nintendo and that was a bit cooler.

Anyway, then I found another collection called Namco Museum Battle Collection. That has about 20 games like Pac Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, Galaxian etc. 4 of the games they redid for the PSP too. I know of 3 of them, Pac Man, Dig Dug and Galaga they totally redid to give them a little 3Dness so they look way cool.

I found it on ebay new still in package for like $15 so of course I had to buy it. I don’t know when I’ll get it because I bought it on a Saturday and it wont go out until Monday probably and it’s coming via USPS which means it will be longer than if it were coming via UPS or FedEx. That’s fine though because the mail carrier can put it in the wood box outside and nobody will take it and I wont have to worry about staying home for it hehe. I can’t wait to play Galaga and Dig Dug after all these years.
