First Weigh In of 2014

noom2014

Today was my first official weigh in for 2014.  When I decided to start my diet up again as my new year’s resolution for 2014, I was 213lbs and I wanted to drop a few pounds before officially starting, so I did and now I am down to 207lbs.  See?  I’m serious about this!

My goal last year was just to get down to 200lbs and I did that by my birthday, but I ended up going down to 193lbs which brought my weight loss to 70lbs.  This time I want to get down to 150lbs which means if my official weigh in is 207lbs, then I have 57lbs to lose.  I’m not positive 150lbs is the right weight for me since people insist that it’s not realistic because that is way too thin for me, but I’m 5’7” and the ideal weight for my height is 150lbs, and that was what I used to weigh, and I could still pinch an inch, so I wasn’t skinny by any means.  Although, I have built up a lot of muscle since I weighed 150lbs, so perhaps 150lbs would be too thin.  I don’t know so I will decide when to stop when I get to whatever weight that proves to be too thin.

So the image you see above is my weigh in screenshot from the Noom app on my Nook HD+.  I will take screenshots every Friday when I weigh in and I will post them on my Noom page.  According to the weight graph, I should be at 150lbs by September 28, 2014.  Last year it told me that I would be at my goal by September (or was it November?  I can’t recall) and I was at my goal by June.  Perhaps I will be at my new goal by June again.  That would be awesome because that would make the perfect birthday present to myself.

I will be using the waist graph in the Noom app, but I won’t be doing screenshots of it because I think that’s overkill.  I mean, most people probably don’t give two shits about my weekly weigh in, so I’m sure the waist graph doesn’t make any difference lol.  I barely care about it, but I use the waist graph because it would be neat to know how fat I was in inches from January 2013 when I weighed 263lbs compared to what my inches will be when I get down to 150lbs (hopefully in June).

Anyway, I don’t think I will be writing a blog post every weigh-in day, because I’m sure that’s too boring for people.  Instead I will just upload the screenshot on my Noom page.  I may blog here and there about this and that.  So… until then.

Make Holiday Money Online

christmas cash

Want to know how to earn money on your smart phone or computer for the holidays?  It’s not very difficult, although it does take a lot of time and patience.  Here is how I make extra money.  Blogging, surveys and watching videos online.

Blogging

Blogsvertise

Click Advertise on My Blog

Blogsvertise isn’t as good as it used to be, although I am not counting them out of the game because it is possible that some day I might get new opps, although it has been a long time so I’m not holding my breath either.  They usually send you an email telling you to write a 200 word, 3 paragraph blog post and you get paid a certain amount of money depending on your blogs rating.  The higher your PR is, the more money you will make.  Although from what I understand, Google doesn’t use PR anymore, advertisers still request PR1 or PR3.  They do have pay-per-click opportunities, but I have never made a dime from those, so they don’t work very well.

It takes 30 days to receive your payment through PayPal and there is no limit to the amount of money they will deposit.  If your payment is $10, then they deposit $10.

PayPerPost
PayPerPost is a company owned by IZEA.  They send you emails with leads and you can either accept or decline them.  You just write your blog post about the website and enter the link to the post and you get paid 30 days after it is approved.  There isn’t a limit to how much money you can withdraw, but know that if it is under $50, they will take $2 from you.  It’s a good thing to wait for that to build up to $50 though.  I still have $23.50 in my account, although it has been quite some time since I have gotten an opp.

SocialSpark

Set Your Price. Choose your Advertisers. Sign up for SocialSpark!

SocialSpark is also owned by IZEA and for some reason I get more opportunities here than PayPerPost, although it has been quite some time since I have.  I also have a pay-per-click (PPC) ad on my blog which does generate revenue each month, so whether I write a post or not, I will receive money in my account, although it is a tiny amount.

Much like the other blogging websites above, they send you an email telling you that you have a lead or an opportunity and you either accept the lead, or take the opportunity, whichever the case may be.  Unlike the other 2, when you are ready to write your blog post, you have to write it within the website, not your own.  They will post it to your blog on a specific day and time, usually the next day or so.

It also takes a month to receive your payment, and like PayPerPost, you can withdraw any amount you want, but they will take $2 out if the amount is under $50.

Surveys

Swag Bucks

Search & Win

Swag Bucks is a great way to earn money by doing surveys, watching videos, playing games, downloading apps and getting paid to shop or search the web.  I haven’t received a payout yet, but that’s because it is not the easiest way to earn money because I get disqualified from I would say 8 out of 10 surveys because I didn’t meet the criteria for whatever reason.  You earn very little for watching videos and I haven’t even figured out how to earn money from playing games yet.  When you do earn swag bucks from surveys, it is a good amount.

When you have 450 swag bucks you are eligible to redeem a $5 gift card for Amazon.  Some rewards are 500 for a $5 value, but Amazon seems to require less.  They do have good rewards though, like Amazon, Target, PayPal and Starbucks, just to name a few.

SuperPay.Me

SuperPay.Me is a new website (new to me) that I just started using.  In just a short amount of time I have earned $1.43 and 104 points from doing surveys, installing apps and watching videos.  One of the very odd ways of earning money is by clicking a banner ad which opens a new tab in your browser, and you have 5 to 60 seconds to look at a website before you earn your credit.  The credit isn’t a lot, but it’s free money, so why wouldn’t you do it?

The reason I am suggesting this website is because you can withdraw any amount of money you want at any given time.  Like say you have made $1.00 and you want that dollar, like right now, you can withdraw it to your PayPal account.  How you make money from points is you can either get a $5 Amazon gift card for 500 points, or you can convert your points to cash, or you can convert your cash to points.  It is up to you how you want to be paid.  I would personally keep earning as much money as I can until I need it, then withdraw it and get a lump sum.

Amazon Mechanical Turk

Amazon Mechanical Turk is not the same thing as everything else I listed above this one.  You choose tasks called “HIT” and do whatever it is they want you to do.  Like for example, my first task was to write down everything in a store receipt along with their price, including coupons and voids.  You know how a receipt shows initials instead of long names because there really isn’t much room for a long name?  Well, you have to type in the long name I guess.  Anyway, that one particular task gave me 2 hours to do the task, well, that’s perhaps a 10 minute task if you ask me, but they kept saying I didn’t do something right and to keep checking.  I forgot to add 1 yogurt and 1 dozen eggs, but everything else was right.  I checked it, double checked it, triple checked it, quadruple checked it… I basically checked it about 20 times and it was correct.  I finally just submitted it whether it was right or not because it was right in my mind.  If I don’t get paid then that’s okay, it was only .06 cents anyway.

You aren’t going to make very much money with this which is why I don’t completely recommend it.  It is Amazon, so when you get paid, they will pay you money, or you can choose Amazon credit.  I personally would rather have Amazon credit because I’m always buying things on Amazon anyway, so I might as well just have some money in my account.  But I can’t say that I will be doing this enough to make much of a difference.  It takes way too long for only 6 cents for that one task.

Watching TV

Viggle

Viggle isn’t a website, it’s an app for your Android or iPhone.  You earn points for watching tv and doing trivia while watching your show.  They have some good rewards, although they come and go so if you want a specific reward, you may have to wait for it to come back.

In 2013 I earned $50 in rewards for Barnes & Noble.  It cost me 50,000 points for $25 which I redeemed twice (months apart).  I don’t see it on their website now, but I will continue earning more points to redeem more for the same reward.

RewardTV

RewardTV is a website I used many, many years ago.  I didn’t even know they were still around, but you can make a lot of points just buy doing trivia on shows that you watch.  Like say you watched Once Upon A Time last night, today you can do trivia on what you saw.  I completed the trivia and got 2 questions wrong, but they weren’t questions for the show, they were for the commercials during the show.  Look, I’m not paying attention to the commercials LOL.  Those are pee breaks people!  At any rate, for this specific show, I earned 10,500 points.

I can’t tell you how to spend your points.  They don’t have a rewards page for redeeming your points like the other websites I suggested.  They do have sweepstakes, pay for my stuff which I assume is basically sweepstakes, auctions, and shopping spree, which I have no clue how that works.

So even though I have no clue how you can make money from this, I am still suggesting it because points are very easy to make if you remember what happened in the show that you watched the day before.  I am sure you will figure out how to spend your points.

Those are all I can think of for right now.  I wrote a post about making money from your cell phone, but I didn’t keep those apps because I didn’t use them as often as I would have liked, but I stand by them because they are a good way to earn money if you are willing to do what they ask.

My Website is Back Up

I have been in bloggers hell for the last 2 days.  The night before last night I got an email from Blogsvertise saying that a post that I had written (the post before this one) was missing 5 days later.  Well, I clicked the link and sure enough it was missing, along with the rest of my blog and my dashboard too.   I immediately went to my websites control panel to find out what was wrong and that wouldn’t load.  When it did finally load the database page wouldn’t load.

All day yesterday I had been contacting the web host about it and last night the dashboard finally came back online, but the blog itself was still out.  This morning it was the same thing so I emailed them again.  I emailed one of the associates from Blogsvertise to let them know what was going on so they would be patient with me.

This happened to me last year where my database became so corrupt that I couldn’t load anything and I ended up having to start over with a new database which meant I had to start over from scratch.  I had lost all of my comments and I had to go to other websites where my blog posts were are automatically published to.  That was no fun at all, it took me several months and I got so bored with it that I gave up which left a huge hole in 2010 from posts that I never copied back over.

It doesn’t seem as though I have been blogging very much lately because I have been spending so much of my time on Facebook.  I keep saying that I will try to get back to blogging, but it just doesn’t seem to happen.  I will make that same promise again though, perhaps I will blog what I post on Facebook, we’ll see.

Restoring My Blog

As some may know, I recently lost my blogs database.  The database was corrupt and even the backup that my web host had was corrupt so I had to start over.

It has been a little over a week now and I have been working hard for at least 8 hours a day restoring posts.  I have almost 500 posts back and I have not given up totally on getting the rest back but I do need to take a day off.

I was restoring them backwards from the day my blogs database died until July 2010 but then I decided that 6 months is good enough, I will start from the beginning in 2007 and work my way to where I left off to fill in that gap.  I want to do it chronologically because there were posts that had links to past posts and the only way I could restore those links is by restoring old first then newer.  Does that make any sense?

As of right now the restored posts are from the very beginning in 2007 all the way to the beginning of October 2008.  Then July 2010 to now.  There were specific posts that I wanted to restore because I see people are still searching for them so I did a search on my blogger site so I could restore them out of order (but with their right dates and times).  Those are the KFC posts, Star Tatoo Girl and Bokni Magus posts.  Those were by far my most popular posts and now they are back.

Now, I need to take a break because I am very bored with the whole process of copying and pasting from Blogger and YouSayToo lol.  My old posts can be seen on those other sites until I can finish restoring them here.

I got some reading to do so I will continue where I left off tomorrow.

My Twittascope For Today is Laughable

Here is my horoscope today from Twittascope:

“Someone may come to your rescue today, whether you need the assistance or not. But in any case, accepting help is wise because it can deepen the bond of friendship. Don’t worry if another person’s involvement actually reduces your efficiency. Ultimately, it’s not about increasing your production; it’s about improving your relationships.”

I think it’s hilarious because what could I possibly need anyone to help me with? I mean seriously. Does someone think they can help me copy my blog posts over to my blog? It’s not happening. Even if someone did help me, they wouldn’t be as emotionally invested in or as passionate about my blog as I am. So they would do a half ass job at best.

No amount of help is going to truly help me because this is something that will probably take months to do even with help. I’ve already copied over 200 posts from YouSayToo and have over 400 more to copy. Then I have my Blogspot site that has all of my posts from my earlier days when I first started blogging and I’ve already started pulling posts from there last night.

I can import from Blogspot and I already tried but only 60 out of 901 imported so I ended up deleting what was imported because nothing was right. Everything was double spaced with no titles, descriptions, tags or categories and there were errors in some of the posts because I didn’t use spell check at the beginning.

But I could be wrong, maybe the horoscope meant some other job like helping me clean the lawn or something. Who knows what it really means. Even then, I really don’t care enough about the lawn right now since the grass isn’t growing. It’s fine until April when I start watering.

Then again, when has my horoscope ever been right? I just don’t think it applies to me today. But it is funny that anyone would want to help me with anything. Especially where it says that accepting help will deepen the bond of friendship because I really don’t have that many friends outside of the computer. Unless it means a computer friend wants to help me with something? Hmmmm, what could they help me with? Hmm let’s see… Nothing lol.

Stupid horoscopes…

Wait, just wait for an update, I’ll probably be coming back in a few hours or maybe later tonight saying “OMG it happened, someone asked to help me” lol.

Blog Down, RSS Up

Oh my goodness what a day I’ve had. Went to the doctor’s office, got praised for losing 2lbs the WHOLE MONTH which upsets me but the doctor seemed to be happy about it for some odd reason. We come home and I go on a tangent of trying to fix my RSS feed and screw the whole thing up.

I had this plug-in which was supposed to fix everything but it didn’t do anything and I went to their blog and posted a comment asking for help. I figured that if I just re-upload all the blog files it would fix it but it did the complete opposite. I couldn’t access anything at all. My blog was down for at least an hour.

I was floored that I might have lost my blog but I got it back and everything is fine. My RSS feed works again which was all I wanted to begin with and my blog is up again. WHEW! I really need a cocktail now lol.

WordPress Update

If anyone tried visiting my blog today they may have noticed that it wasn’t accessible.  I was trying yet again to update my WordPress blog to the next version which is supposed to be better.  I really don’t care about the new features, what I care about is getting that stupid notice at the top of the screen off.  Also one of my plugins is telling me that it won’t work until I update WP to 2.8.

One of the things that I was told to do before updating is to deactivate all my plugins before attempting to update and for some strange reason that keeps slipping my mind.  I don’t know why but I’ve deactivated EVERYTHING so that I may proceed.  If it doesn’t work again then screw it, I will just deal with my plugins not working and with that warning at the top of my control panel.

UPDATE: Ok, I finally got it all working again and the upgrade is installed.  Here is what happened.  I am a hard headed idiot who cannot follow directions that’s what happened.

The first time I tried doing the upgrade I read the full instructions and at the very beginning it said clear as day “deactivate all your plugins first” so what do I do?  I don’t deactivate all my plugins, I just proceed with the upgrade.  Then I had to delete it all and reupload my backup then I tried upgrading again WITHOUT deactivating my plugins then again it didn’t work so I had to delete it all and reupload my backups.

So today I did the same exact thing lol.  Finally after I made the above post I did it again lol.  Then after I reuploaded everything AGAIN I decided to deactivate all my plugins and did the upgrade and it worked.  However, as I was reactivating plugins things started going south again so I was luckily able to click back and deactivate them.  So I went and reactivated them one at a time while looking at the blog site in another tab, I kept hitting the refresh button to make sure it was all working.  There were a few plugins that I lost that were not compatible with WordPress 2.8 but I don’t mind.

Those plugins are:

  1. Global Translator which I can find another one that will work for those who read my blog but do not speak english.
  2. Custom Smilies… what?  I can’t smile in my posts anymore?  Well I’m gonna have to find some new ones then aren’t I?
  3. Flickr – This actually didn’t cause any issues but I just never use it so I got rid of it.
  4. WordPress Greet Box – This is something that would greet my visitors from any website they came from like for example if you came here from Google it would say hi google person or whatever it would say lol.  Yeah, I don’t need that.

So that’s it.  I’m going to try to get number 1 and 2 back soon.

WordPress 2.8 Upgrade Issues

Just giving a heads up that yesterday I tried to upgrade my WordPress to version 2.8 and it gave me nothing but problems.  Before I did the upgrade I backed my entire blog folder onto the computer just in case and it was a good thing that I did because I ended up having to delete the blog folder completely and replace it.

It’s not back to the way it was though, I’m having issues with uploading photos and when the blog loads in internet exploder there are errors on the page.

I am going to wait a week to see if WordPress decides to fix the issue and give us a new file to download.  I say “us” because apparently I’m not the only person having issues with it.

Fidgit

Sci Fi channel has come out with a new website for gamers.  They seem to cover every platform, genre and every thing related to gaming.

http://www.fidgit.com

I try to look at everything for the PSP.  I just want to read everything I can about new updates and the future of the PlayStation Portable such as new features like when they added Skype and Internet radio.  This website doesn’t seem to have anything after July 2008 and right now it’s near the end of September.  I don’t really see this being a major source of news for me for the PSP right now but it is nice to have another source of news for the game system I love.

250 Posts

I finally finished archiving all my old blogs from July 2007 until now.  It took me many hours a day but I finally did it.  Although the 250 includes all the posts I made since I got this new blog system with WordPress.  It doesn’t include this post either lol.

I sent out emails to friends telling them about this and so far 1 person has told me that she saw it and commented that I blog a lot.  That was when I had 150 posts too so I’ve added a lot more since then hehe.  Yeah, I do have a lot of blogs because I have a lot to say.  That is, when it’s just me and my keyboard.  When I am in a room with other people I’m usually speechless.  People say I’m too quiet but just give me a keyboard and I got a lot more to say.
