PS Vita Borderlands 2 Bundle

2015-12-06-17.00.41.png.png

My partner didn’t know what to get me for Christmas, and I was dropping hints so big, I’m really shocked he didn’t get it lol. He finally did when I just blurted it out. A bit tacky, but whatever.

So he called Best Buy to find out if they had the PS Vita, and they said yes, so we got in the car to go and I told him that if truth be told, I honestly don’t want just the console, I’d rather have a bundle because it’s the same price, and you get a game AND a memory card. Best Buy only had the console, not the bundle. I looked on the Game Stop app and I thought they had the bundle, so we went to the mall and they said they didn’t have the bundle.

They said they just had the blue PS Vita, so we were just going to buy it on Amazon later, but I decided that I didn’t care about the bundle, I just want it, so we went back. They explained that I needed a memory card since the 1GB on board is used for the Vita OS, and it was too much for my partner, so we ordered the bundle to be shipped, and after shipping and the warranty, it came out to the same price lol. Oh well.

The guy at Game Stop said Borderlands 2 will consume the 8GB memory card that comes in the bundle, so when we came home I bought a 32GB memory card for $62 and change, plus tax, plus shipping, and it will be here on Wednesday. The PS Vita will be here on Friday.

Today I went on the PlayStation app on my phone to see what games I already own that are compatible with the PS Vita, and it turns out I have quite a bit of games that will work. I listed them. I bought 2 extra games that I have many add-ons for that will work with the
PS Vita, so I figured I might as well have those games too. A lot of these games are on my PSP, but some of these games are only available for the PS Vita. I already own them, so now I can actually play them, and some of them I’ve played on my PSP, so I can play them again, but with an extra stick since my PSP only has the one stick on the left, and the PS Vita has the stick on the left and right.

PS Vita game list

I used to make PSP gameplay videos and post them on YouTube, and I was quite proud of them, but I stopped doing it because so many people made fun of the fact that my hands shake (I was born with a tremor in both hands, actually my entire body shakes). One or two people commented on how I was playing a game wrong since I wasn’t properly killing the monsters the way they would have killed the monsters. Talk about picking your battles. Dude, we all play games our own way, you play your way, I play mine. No one plays wrong. One person actually called me a pedophile. As if only children are allowed to play video games, give me a break. That was my deciding factor in quitting.

I discovered a device that you can plug your PSP into that will record your gameplay, which cuts out the need for a camcorder pointing at the screen, so no hands in the way, but I don’t know if it works with the PS Vita. If I can find out what other people use to record gameplay with the Vita, then I may consider doing that because I’d really love to record some videos again. I had so much fun doing that, and I love watching other people playing video games, so I want to do that again. If I need a device then I will buy one, but if you can do it directly from the Vita without the need for extra hardware, then I will do that instead.

So the 32GB memory card comes on Wednesday and the PS Vita comes on Friday. I wanted it so when I am in the living room, I will be able to play Destiny and Star Wars Battlefront using remote play, but I really want to play the other games like Borderlands 2 and some of these games I’ve listed. I will post again when it comes and after I’ve played around with it. Catch you on the flip side!

Lego Maniac

Lego’s were my babysitter when I was a child.  You could literally put me in a room with a bunch of Lego’s and leave for a couple of hours and come back and I would still be in the same spot building with my plastic bricks.  I have such an emotional connection with Lego’s so it’s no surprise that when they came out with video games, even as an adult I was attracted to them.

I can remember when I first discovered the Lego video games.  We were in a Game Stop at the mall and I was going through their games looking for a new game and I found Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.  The clerk told me that in June that year, which was 2008, Lego was coming out with a new game called Lego Indiana Jones.  Naturally I had to pre-order it.  When I did get it, it came with a free t-shirt which I wore all the time.  I wore it so much that it is a bit faded and it has many holes in it.  It’s been retired and is hanging in my closet.

The next game was Lego Batman, which I naturally pre-ordered and it was released in September of the same year.  I got a Robin keychain.

Lego Indiana Jones 2 came out in 2009, but I didn’t buy it.  Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 came out in 2010 and I did pre-order it and bought it, but I don’t recall getting something for free.  Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars came out in 2011, but I didn’t buy it, but in May 2011 Lego Pirates of the Caribbean came out and I did pre-order and buy that one.  Finally Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 came out in November 2011 but I did not buy it.

My reasons for not buying some of the Lego games weren’t because I didn’t want to play with them, but more because I couldn’t afford to keep buying new games at their high prices.  I figured I would wait for them to go down in price, or until I had a gift card.

I have been doing surveys with e-rewards.com for many years and have gotten a lot of games for my PSP with Game Stop gift cards from e-rewards.  In fact, 90% of the games that I do own are from doing surveys.  Surveys have helped keep me gaming for many years, but for some reason they stopped coming, and when they did come again, I wasn’t interested in doing them anymore out of boredom.

Recently I decided to do some new surveys and realized I had $60 in my e-rewards account which was more than enough to get a new gift card for Game Stop.  Unfortunately they raised the cost of the reward from $50 to $75 for a $25 gift card.  I’ve been doing surveys every day since then so I could have $75 in my account so I could get my gift card and I finally did.

We went to the Game Stop at the Valley Plaza yesterday and unfortunately, they don’t carry PSP games anymore.  The guy said that if I wanted PSP games, I would have to visit their Rosedale store or the East Hills mall.  Bollocks!

I recently got a $35 gift card from Amazon for advertising on my blog so I decided to buy Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.  I decided to go to GameStop.com with my $25 Game Stop gift card and I bought the 2 remaining Lego games that I was missing.  When those come, I will have all 8 Lego games for the PSP.  I got free shipping with my order of $25 or more, and it was more.  With taxes it came to $30.07 so all I had to pay out-of-pocket (or out of debit card lol) was 5.07.

I have been playing Lego Star Wars III and I do love it.  I believe I am 10% in the game now.

I love the Lego games and I can’t wait to play the new ones.

Today Is My 41st Birthday

Doomsday must be upon us because I have turned 41 years old today.  When I was a child I couldn’t wait to grow up and now that I’m all grown up I wish I was a child again because I really hate this aging process.

Darrin wanted to take me to the mall to buy me some things so we went to Sears and he bought me 5 t-shirts with a pocket on the front left and 2 pairs of shorts and a pair of flip-flops.  Then downstairs in the bedding department for an egg crate for my bed because it’s really old and I needed the extra support.  He wanted to buy me a new bed but they cost $2500.  They have a 50% off sale with other in store discounts that brings it down to just under $1000 but we just don’t have that kind of money right now so I get to keep and suffer with a 25-30 year old bed lol.  No wonder I have back issues.

I do surveys for e-rewards and I had $50 worth in my account so I ordered a $25 gift card for Game Stop a couple of weeks ago and it came a few days ago so I used that to buy the newest Lego game “Lego Pirates of the Caribbean”.  I had an old Game Stop gift card in my wallet which still had $3.37 on it so the game in total was only $4.09.

I’m a member of the Dairy Queen blizzard fan club so I got a buy one medium blizzard and get one free coupon in my inbox this morning so while we were at the mall we both got blizzards.  That’s my favorite thing about my birthday, we get blizzards hehe.  It’s become a tradition.

I’m also a member of the Hometown Buffet e-club so every year I get a buy one get one free dinner for there too so that’s what’s for dinner.  We haven’t gone yet but we will be going pretty soon.

I have a love/hate relationship with birthdays.  I hate the getting old part but on the other hand I love the free stuff you get lol.  I didn’t get a cake but that’s because we had cake a few days ago.  Darrin had a sweet tooth so I made my birthday cake early for him.  That doesn’t sound right hehe.  Oh well, I’ll just get some when I go back for desserts at Hometown Buffet tonight.  That should make up for it.

Kongregate With Me

Are you a big Game Stop fan?  Did you know that they have a website where you can play free video games?  It’s called Kongregate and they have thousands and thousands of games that you can play.

I’m hooked on this one game called Cursed Treasure: Don’t Touch My Gems.  It has a tutorial so you can figure out how to play it.

The object of this game is to keep your gems from being touched.  Unfortunately, you can’t prevent them from being picked up and taken away at first but as you gain level and points you will gain abilities which makes killing the enemy easier.

You have 3 types of terrain and 3 types of towers.  You have to place the green huts on the green grass, those shoot arrows.  Then place the ice towers on the snow, those shoot ice.  Then finally there are the lava/fire towers that you place on the rock, guess what those shoot.

There are 15 levels and you get trophies for playing it.  Your first trophy is for slaying 200 enemies, 2nd for getting to level 10, 3rd for completing 10 missions and the 4th one is for getting “brilliant” on all 15 levels.  That last one is difficult but easy as pie once you have all your abilities.

In each mission, if even 1 gem leaves the mission or if you still have at least 1 gem in the cave then you get a “good” but if all gems are gone you lose.  If even 1 gem gets touched but no gems leave the game you get an “excellent” but if not one gem has been touched at all by anyone, not even a champion, then you get a “brilliant”.

So far, I am level 15, I have completed 12 levels with “good” but got levels 1-5 to “brilliant”.  I have 3 more levels to get to “good” then I can go back to levels 5-15 over and over again until each of them have a “brilliant”.

What do I get out of it?  Heck if I know.  It’s fun to play though.  I really wish this game was on my PSP.  Hopefully when I finish playing this one I might be interested in playing another game.

Oh and this game is the main reason I haven’t been blogging or reading lately lol.

Autobiography Research

I went looking on the Rainbow ebooks website for an autobiography and they don’t have that category so I searched in biography which is empty. So I went to the borders website to find a gay autobiography in e-book format but unfortunately there are 34,537 biographies. They have many categories so you can narrow down your search but there were none in the “gay” category so I thought…. GOOGLE!

Note: I searched Borders because I have $15 borders bucks from doing surveys with e-rewards.com and I’m tired of only being able to get $25 Game Stop cards. I was never really interested in the other rewards they offer but now that I have a Nook I figure I might as well get some ebooks out of it.

So I went to the Google search engine and typed “Autobiography of a gay person” and this is what came up.

glbtq >> literature >> Autobiography, Gay MaleIn its first century of existence, gay male autobiography has become increasingly more open, frank, and unapologetic…

Edward Carpenter’s “My Days and Dreams” was published in 1890. Like other early gay male autobiographies, the book was reticent about its author’s intimate relationships.

This is the very first autobiography of a gay person and it was published in 1890. You know what first came to mind? A book that was published in 1890 is now out of print which means… It’s FREE!

I turned my Nook on, went to the shop menu, chose e-books then typed in the name of this book and it was the 2nd thing in the list and it said it was from Google and it was free!

So now I get to do my research from a pioneer. Although, his experience is going to be totally different from mine given the fact that they were from BLOODY 1890… but still. It will help me anyway.

Cooler, Movies, Mall, Video Games…

We got our day planned out.  First we gotta go borrow the ladder from the store next door to our house so we can service the tenants cooler, well, I’ll be changing the cooler pads while Darrin is cleaning the cooler on the ladder.  I hate heights.

Then we’re gonna go to the mall and go see the new Star Trek movie.  Then when that’s over we’re probably going to go back to the mall to eat.

The most important thing is that I got a $25 Game Stop card so I’m going to pick out 2 used games.  I’m sure it will go over, that’s ok, I’ll just pay the difference.

I hope I get 2 good games.  Since there are 2 game stops in the mall I’m probably going to have to look in 1 to see what they have then go to the other to see what they have before I make my final decision.  It’s a process lol.

EverQuest for PSP

Untold Legends which I got today at Game Stop is very similar to EverQuest.  So I finally got the PSP’s answer to EQ.  I read that Sony wanted to create a version of EQ for the PSP but they couldn’t or something like that but they made Untold Legends.  It is very similar to EQ.  There are quests and merchants and you go up to people and talk to them and you got people following you and helping you fight.

Although nothing beats being able to chat with people but there is a multiplayer mode via lan or adhoc.  I don’t know how it works with the Lan though.  Maybe you gotta be chatting on the phone lol.  Who knows.  Or maybe you can use the headset with the mic.  With Adhoc you are sitting in the same room as the person you are playing with.

But I don’t know anyone with a PSP so it doesn’t matter.  I will always have to choose single player lol.

New PSP Games

We went to Game Stop today and I picked out 2 games.  Untold Legends: Warriors Code and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.

They were both used so I got a good price, Untold Legends was $12.99 and Ratchet and Clank was $14.99.  Because I had a $25 gift card I only had to pay $5.01 extra.  It’s nice to get a new game but these don’t scratch very easily so used PSP games aren’t a big deal.  I usually keep my games in their cases so they never get scratched.

I can’t wait to play these new games.

WTF?

wtfIt’s not what you think.  WTF stands for Work Time Fun.  I got this game last night because I have been extremely bored.  I can’t crochet anymore and all the games I have I’ve played and even though I’m not finished with them I wanted something new.  I still have that $25 gift card for Game Stop but I don’t know when I’ll be able to use it so until then I got this.

It was only $9.99 at the PlayStation Store and it has all these mini games inside it like counting chicks for example.  There are 3 types of chicks.  Male, Female and Dead lol.  You push the chicks over with the right arrow button on the left side of the PSP then you decide where it goes.  If it’s a female chick you press the X, if it’s male you press the O and if it’s dead you press the triangle and it goes to heaven.

There is also a game called Pendimonium (I think that’s the name) where you work in a pen factory and you have to put the caps on pens.  But some come out upside down so you have to turn it right side up, put the cap on it then go to the next one.

Yeah, it does strain your eyes and it does seem to be strange but oddly addictive.

One of the games is similar to frogger, you have to get this little guy safely to the other side and keep him from getting hit by a car and you gotta eat the mushrooms in the road along the way.  Yeah, you have to be doing mushrooms to play this one lol.

There is a baseball one which I am terrible at and a boxing game where all you do is press the x button many times but I never win that one.

Oh talk about winning, WTF is like a job, you have to “go to work” by doing these mini games and you get a paycheck depending on what tasks you’ve done.  Since I just got the game I’m not that far into it so I can’t explain what you get in this game but one of the things I saw from YouTube is you get this fun little thing that is eyeballs and from what I’ve seen on YouTube that is really fun especially for parties lol.
