Kern Wheelmen Bicycle Club

This website might help me for a good bike route.  Bakersfield put in a bike path along the Kern river beginning at the Mouth of Kern Canyon, the Kern River Parkway includes over 6,000 acres of trails, parks and waterways extending over 30 miles westerly to Highway I-5.  There is a bike club that does trips which go out of the bike path which starts at Beach Park, goes for 42.5 miles in a circle and ends right back at Beach Park.  The bike ride to Beach Park from our house is only 2.7 miles.

Of course before I can do this ride I’m going to have to get used to riding my bike again.  Also all the people on the picture in this website are all athletes and they are all in shape so before I even think about joining their club I need to be as fit as they are.  I would lag too far behind these guys.

Well, this is the website address:  www.kernwheelmen.org

I hope some day I will be as skinny and fit as I used to be a long time ago.  I feel that I am wasting my life being fat.

Hamburger Helper

We haven’t had Hamburger Helper in a very long time.  Tonight we went to Albertson’s and they had Hamburger Helper in the 10 for $10 display just when you walk in the front door.

I personally love hamburger helper.  My mom used to make that all the time when I was a kid.  My aunt Betty used to make her own version of it by making regular macaroni and cheese (not Kraft but elbow macaroni and velveeta or something) then just adding hamburger meat to it.  OMG it was so good, I really miss that.

Doctor Who 1963/64

I am downloading Doctor Who from 1963/64. Ever since they introduced the new Doctor Who in 2005 I’ve been watching it on Sci-Fi channel and I got curious about what the doctor was like at the beginning because there are 26 seasons of the original Doctor Who. You can’t help but be curious.

I’ve already watched the first 13 out of 43 episodes (actually there are 42 in the first season but I’m counting the unaired pilot in that) and it’s pretty good. There are so many episodes that were lost by the BBC and so this company has reconstructed the episodes with audio and some pictures that were saved from each of these episodes.

I actually read that not all the episodes have “telesnaps” so I look forward to seeing what those episodes are like. I’m hoping to be able to download all 26 seasons but that will take a long time.

Update: After the 2nd season I got bored with it (the reconstructed episodes were exhausting to watch).  The 3rd season was just too difficult to watch so I only got to see 1 or 2 episodes and threw in the towel.

Lego Indiana Jones

I got my Lego Indiana Jones for PSP game today and got a free t-shirt. This game is fun just like Lego Star Wars is. I’m really glad I got a PSP because it’s so cool.

I also bought some artist stuff at Michael’s. I bought “Cartooning Kit for Dummies” and it came with 6 colored pencils, 6 markers which are basically the same colors as the pencils, an eraser and a pencil sharpener. I was disappointed in the pencils because they were very difficult to erase. A regular pencil works better.

It also comes with a little 5×7 sketching pad with 50 sheets. The book is lame, it’s not even a book it’s more of a piece of paper folded a few times. I also bought a book called Superhero Madness which has “45 basic lessons for drawing cool heroes and vile villains”. It’s pretty cool. They also had these booklets that were totally blank so you can create your very own comic book. I bought 2 sizes, a regular typical comic book size and a pocket book size. Each with 28 pages.

I don’t know what I’m going to draw in them but I probably wont use them for a very long time, long enough to know what I’m doing first hehe.

Web Design

I just finished a new website yesterday. I was asked way before Christmas time if I would design more websites for Chips brother and his son (Chips nephew) and I’ve been saying yes for a long time but never got any info on it.

So Darrin told me that David called again and left another message and told me “would you please call him?” So I did then as Darrin was giggling he told me that it was an old message. Well, that’s ok because it got me to call him and remind him that I still wanted to do it.

So I got the information and pictures and stuff and made the website. It’s at www.superlodgeelpaso.com.  I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.

Costco

We went to Costco today, I bought some shampoo, body wash, deodorant, laundry soap, trash bags and yogurt. All but the yogurt will most likely last 6 months or longer so I guess money well spent hehe. It was about $65. It was a good buy though, 200 loads of laundry or something and I think 200 garbage bags. Wow! Not bad. Oh and 4 sticks of deodorant. That will last a long time since I only use it when I need to. Being lazy has its advantages hehe.

Christmas Tree (Continued)

Well I just put up the Christmas Tree in the living room. It looks so good. There were 4 sections and I had to place the bottom in the tree holder and remove the giant red twisty hehe. All the branches are on these metal wires that fall down when you remove the twisty tie, it’s really cool. I haven’t had a christmas tree for a very long time. It took awhile to fluff it up but I got all 4 sections together and fluffed and it looks awesome. Now all we need to do is put the decorations on it. We got these shiny balls from the dollar store (they were actually $2) green and red and silver that look like little disco balls hehe. They are plastic so they wont break which is really good. I like decorations that I don’t have to worry about getting stuck in the arch of my foot. We also have a bunch of Megs decorations that she used on her tree. As I said in my last blog about Christmas tree, were going to put candy canes on it and I’m going to crochet some decorations. It will be so nice.
