Talking About Trolls On The Radio

I wake up every morning with Klly 95.3 FM here in Bakersfield and this morning I woke up listening to what seemed like an odd conversation with the hosts Danny Hill and Niki Reyes.  They were talking about how overly sensitive people are of what they talk about on the radio and even post on Facebook.  I woke up during their conversation but this is what I got from it.

Danny Hill must have said something about going to the circus on the radio or on Facebook and people went over his head and started posting negative comments about it on the radio stations Facebook fan page saying he is supporting racism/slavery and animal cruelty.  First of all, how does going to the circus support racism and/or slavery?  And secondly, he went to an animal free circus.  They have clowns and acrobatics, they didn’t have any animals.  Clowns and acrobatics get paid so they aren’t slaves.

I didn’t see a negative comment from a “fan” but Klly did make a post saying “Relax everyone, it’s a animal free circus, just clowns and tight rope walkers! It’s the new trend!”

Then he was talking about how they were talking on the radio about a list of Hollywood’s sexiest jewish women.  He mentioned how ridiculous the list was when they came across Sarah Silverman.  I mean, she is anything but sexy lol.  People took that as he was making fun of 1 jewish people and 2 women.

His intentions weren’t to make fun of the people but instead of how dumb the list was because they added a person that he thought was FAR from sexy which I happen to agree.  If you add a square into a list of rounds then that list is ridiculous and it should be made fun of for existing.  If you can’t have all beautiful women then why bother making the list?

It would be like if they added the Nick Nolte in a list of hot men with men like Ricky Martin, Tom Cruise and Jake Gyllenhaal, etc.  That list becomes stupid because you have added 1 person who doesn’t belong.  See what I’m saying?

He was talking about how overly sensitive people are and how they turn everything you say around and make it negative.  Which is so true.  People aren’t focused on anything positive anymore, they only focus on the negative.

Listen, when I think about the circus, the things that pop into my head are clowns, popcorn, peanuts and very nimble people.  Not racism and animal cruelty.  But that’s just me.  I don’t think about all of the things that are negative with a circus because I’m not a troll.

He said that (hypothetical) if he talked about going to Baskin Robbins that people would turn that around and tell him that he supports diabetes.  I can so see people turning that around because people have nothing better to do than to leave nasty negative comments about anything that you say.

I’ve been to Baskin Robbins and they don’t support diabetes because they are so stingy with their ice cream that you wouldn’t be able to get diabetes from them.  They give you this tiny little scoop then charge you $2 for it.  If that one little tiny scoop gives you diabetes then you need to be studied.

I wrote a post last year about a can of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches called Candwich and people were leaving one negative comment after another about how I’m promoting obesity in children.  How does PB&J promote obesity in children?  My mother gave me PB&J sandwiches all the time in my childhood and I never became obese.  I didn’t become obese because I was an active child.  I didn’t sit around playing video games all day long and we had video games back then too.  I had a life outside of tv and video games.  We actually enjoyed the sun and the park and riding bikes and having fun when I was a kid so none of us ever got fat from a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

I know there are better things to focus on in this world like how there are terrorists committing suicide and killing hundreds of innocent lives for their own agenda.  We are at war right now with at least 2 countries that I know of and there was a recent tragedy in Japan that we could also be focusing on.  Isn’t there something better that we could be talking about instead of turning on each other at the drop of a word?

I am sensitive about gay rights.  If I see someone doing or saying something wrong to gay people I go off.  But if someone is making an innocent joke then I can certainly laugh along because I know how to pick my battles.  I’m not so overly sensitive that it’s all I focus on in my day-to-day life.

People really need to pick their battles and stop focusing on such negative things.  The circus is a good thing and a list no matter who is in the list can sometimes be silly so why can’t we make fun of it?  I mean really people, get a life!

Wonder Woman 2011

I loved Wonder Woman when I was a kid.  As I was running away from the bullies to run home, I was also running home to watch this because it was on at 3pm.  I would come home just in time for it to start and I was allowed to watch this before I had to do my homework.

When I heard that they were going to remake Wonder Woman into a new show on NBC I thought, great, wonderful, I can’t wait to see how they redo it.  But then I got to thinking about how they remade the Bionic Woman and Knight Rider and how those shows didn’t even last a full season.  I now see her costume and am thinking the same thing about this new remake because people are not liking this costume.

I found the link to this article on the Yahoo front page as I was checking my email – See the First Photo of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman. That link is dead… new link ‘Wonder Woman’: First look at Adrianne Palicki in costume.  At first glance I thought, oh well, it looks nice.  But then I went down to the comments and I’m seeing all of the negativity about the costume and how her boobs look fake so I go find the picture of Lynda Carter in her costume.  At first the negative comments were pissing me off but then I started thinking, I kinda have to agree with some of them.

First I just want to say that no matter how her costume looks, I will still watch this show from the beginning to end.  Wonder Woman and any super heroes have my loyalty forever, no matter how their costumes look.  I am not trying to be negative in what I say about her costume so don’t take that in the wrong way, these are just my opinions.  So getting that out of the way, this is what I think about the before and after.

I do like the new costume but here are a few things I don’t like about it:

I think her boots should be red as Lynda Carters were and as they were red in the original comic books.  She is missing her stars on her costume, they should be on her pants somewhere.  And why is she wearing pants now?  The original comic book Wonder Woman wore shorts.  Why not stick to that standard?  She has the body for shorts so why not show it off?

I do like her top but her chest area is too plastic looking, not just the outfit but her boobs.  It’s like the seam line of the boobs on the costume match perfectly with her actual boobs which make it look like she’s a plastic blow up doll and the costume was painted onto her chest.  As you can see in the original Wonder Woman costume, her boobs aren’t that pronounced.  Yes I realize that women’s boobs are more pushed up these days and people think that’s sexy but there is a huge difference between sexy and plastic.  All they have to do is take out that seam line in the costume and push her boobs up with like a push-up bra or something.

Like I said, I do like the costume but it’s too shiny.  If they could just tone down the plastic and give her some fabric instead, that would be much easier to move around in and to breathe.  She’s going to be sweating up a storm in there.  Remember, she’s going to be wearing that costume for hours every day doing scenes about 4 times each.

I don’t want to sound too critical, I’m just saying that they have gone way off the reservation is all.  I do like it but it’s just a bit strange and different.  We’re all used to the old and most people don’t like change, especially when it’s this dramatic of a change.  Like how they changed Batman as much as they have.  I liked the original but on the other hand I didn’t mind the new changes they made.  It’s sort of the same as this, I do like the original but I also like this, I just wish they would make a couple of modifications that’s all.

I can’t wait for this to premiere this fall on NBC.  I don’t know the day of the week it will be on or if it will be on at 8pm or 9pm but will soon find out this summer when the Futon Critic website posts the Fall schedule.  In the meantime, check out this original 5 minute pilot episode of Wonder Woman from 1967 that never made it to air and never turned into a series.

Edit: Apparently NBC heard all of the critical feedback (bitching and moaning) from people so they changed the costume. It still doesn’t look right because it’s pants but it’s a lot better than before.

Yardsellr Negative Comments

I’ve posted in here several times that I am on Yardsellr now.  Well, I have been noticing some disturbing trends happening over there.  Apparently it’s not just happening to me but other people as well.

People troll the Yardsellr website then leave nasty comments in people ads.  The other day 3 people left negative comments in my Pedi Paws ad saying the product is not worth your money, don’t waste your time etc.  Uh excuse me but I’m trying to sell it.  I don’t care what you think it’s worth.  Don’t go on my ads telling potential customers of mine that it’s a piece of crap and make me lose a sale.

Another person posted a comment on a video game of mine saying the game was gay.  I didn’t delete the comment but then he came back and posted another comment accusing me of deleting his prior comment and saying “gaaaaaaaayyyyyyy”.  Where were these people raised?  In the forest by wolves?  Don’t people have manners anymore?  First off, I didn’t delete your first stupid comment and second of all, I should just delete both your comments on principle.  I don’t even know why I didn’t delete them, I guess I figured if I deleted them I would get more spam in my other ads which I don’t want.

I clicked the “feedback” button so I could make a suggestion that they add a link or button to “report abuse” so that perhaps if a person gets reported enough times, their account might get banned from either commenting or using the website.  That’s when I ran into another persons feedback saying they are having the same issue as me.

Look, I’m all for leaving comments saying a product isn’t worth a damn but do it on a website that actually makes money.  Don’t leave those comments on a website where people are trying to sell their useless crap so they can scrape enough money together to buy groceries or pay their bills.

Besides the report button, I think they should also add a way for me to approve a comment before allowing it to be posted, just like in my blog and/or YouSayToo.  After so many nasty comments I have decided to make it impossible for people who aren’t members of YST to leave a comment and even members comments have to be approved before they be allowed to be seen.  On my blog the comment is not seen period until I approve it and that’s how it should be everywhere.  If I think a comment at Yardsellr is going to help me make the sale then I should be able to approve it but if it’s negative then it’s my prerogative to delete it and I shouldn’t be hassled by people who have too much time and negativity on their hands.

I wish people would grow up and stop with the internet bullying.  It doesn’t serve any purpose to be jackasses online.  My mother used to tell me that if I don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.  I know it sounds corny but it’s true and should be applied to the internet too.  And parents, please monitor your children’s activity a little better.

Internet Bully or Internet Coward?

This is not a new trend by any means but it seems that there are a lot of bold people out there. I’m sure in the real world they aren’t as mean but when they get online they can turn into real bastards.

Take for example, this guy named Brock Baker. He is a YouTube sensation and yet people rip on him calling him stupid and saying that he has no talent. Let’s see you do what he does and see how much talent you have. Brock Baker has more talent than any of you pansy a-holes who sit behind the safety of your desk leaving nasty comments.

Brock has turned something negative into something positive because he posts certain negative comments on Facebook and his true fans laugh at the nasty comments. Sometimes his fans go to that YouTubers page and leave nasty comments in return.

That I don’t condone only because they call those people “fags” and that is the only part that does piss me off. That’s not necessary, call him a douche or a dick but don’t call him a fag. You wouldn’t call a person of color the N-word so why call them a fag?

Two rights don’t make a wrong but at least those people aren’t leaving comments incognito.

What I’m referring to is YouSayToo. I have noticed that you don’t have to be logged into the website to leave a comment on someones post. Anyone can comment and those “guests” usually leave nasty comments.

I wrote a post some time in the middle of July called Candwich about a product that hasn’t even hit the market yet which is a sandwich in a can. It’s basically a roll with a packet (like ketchup packets) of peanut butter and a packet of strawberry (or grape) jelly. You squeeze them out and onto the bread then enjoy.

Take a look at all the comments… 3 guests all leaving nasty comments, 1 actual name but no image and that wasn’t a nasty comment.

So it seems to me that if you leave a good comment you are bold enough to sign into the website but when you feel like being a total dick that day you sign out then leave a dickish comment. What’s the deal?

Look, I don’t pay any attention to negative comments on that website. If you are bold enough to leave the nasty comment, be bold enough to actually log in to the website first so I can see who you are.

My response to those douchebags is that peanut butter and jelly are NOT bad for you ok? High fructose corn syrup is not fattening, it’s just liquid sugar made out of corn. We all have it in our diets in 1 way or another so don’t tell me that you would never eat it because I know you have. As Judge Judy says, “don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”

The only way you are not getting high fructose corn syrup is if you are a vegetarian who eats only vegetables (not canned) and only water to drink. If you drink soda then you are a hypocrite for leaving those nasty comments because I have news for you. Soda has high fructose corn syrup in it you moron.

You can hide behind your computer saying nasty shit to people with no consequences but let’s see you say it to my face and see what happens.
