I was in the Cub Scouts when I was 9 years old back in 1979. There wasn’t a controversy about gays in the Boy Scouts way back then like there is these days. I was going to try to become a Boy Scout, but I ended up quitting the Cub Scouts because they were giving me too much homework. As if school wasn’t tough enough for a boy with a learning disability, now I had more homework? No thank you! So I quit.

These days I’m reminiscing about what might have been and what if. No badges for me, until now.

I definitely want some of these LGBT merit badges from Happy Camper. They would make great gifts for gay men, am I right?

I so want to make an adult sized Cub Scout uniform and put some of these badges on it. Hey, check me out. My mother was making sure I looked good. This is me when I was 9 years old in the Cub Scouts. Good times.
