Who Said People Can’t Celebrate Christmas?

I have been hearing a lot of talk lately about how people aren’t allowing anyone to celebrate Christmas.  The thing is, I’m only hearing about it from the Christians.  I’m not hearing anyone saying they are offended by Christianity or Christmas itself.  I’m very confused here. I mean seriously help me out, who is saying it is offensive?

I feel like if people don’t want to celebrate Christmas, then don’t celebrate it.   If you want to call it something else, then call it something else but Christmas is a Christian holiday so just deal with it.

If you are Jewish, you have Hanukkah. If you are Atheists then you probably celebrate it for the tree, presents, Santa and a reason to get together with your family.  I should know because I am atheist, I don’t knock the holiday because I know it is a Christian holiday.  I celebrate it because I have always celebrated it since I was a kid and I don’t see why there is any reason to stop.

I just don’t understand why people are making such a huge deal about people being offended when I haven’t actually seen or heard anyone being offended over the words “Merry Christmas.”   I mean really people, quit bitching about everything and celebrate your holiday the way you want to celebrate it and get over it.

Why Do Atheists Bother You So Much?

I was on TweetDeck one day just looking at my friend/family stream and a friend retweeted something that @GodlessAtheist tweeted. It was something that he retweeted that someone else had said. So I checked out a few of his tweets to see what he tweets and he’s mostly retweeting nasty things that other people say about atheists along with a response.

Like right now I’m looking and I see this:

RT @aleepolat: Dear God, Well, this is awkward. Sincerely, dead atheist.http://lil.as/3VC <–at that point neither exist anymore #atheism

Update: The user aleepolat must have deleted his/her account because the link is no longer valid.  Hmm, I wonder why they deleted the account…

What he does is he responds at the end where it shows the arrow then he hash tags it.  And he isn’t nasty about it either.  He responds with a nice sentence like the one you see above.  People say that atheists are so evil and so mean, well this guy shows that they aren’t because his responses are nice.  He is to the point and he doesn’t lie unlike the people he retweets who lie about atheists.

Why does it make people so upset that there are people who don’t share the same exact religious views as them? I mean, there are people who don’t worship Jesus, they are called Muslims and Jews. And I know that upsets the christians to no end because I went to visit a church in San Diego a couple of years ago and they were talking about how they converted a muslim and a jew into christianity. And they were putting them and their religion down to their faces while bragging about the conversion.

Look, people are going to believe in something different, that is what makes us all unique and individual, because we don’t share the same belief system. We are all like snowflakes if you think about it. No two look alike with the exception of twins and even then they have different opinions and personalities because they are 2 different people.

I’ve only been following GodlessAtheist for a couple of weeks now and it seems that he retweets a lot of people who talk trash about atheists. I just don’t understand why atheists bothers people so much. Atheists have nothing to do with you so don’t let it interrupt your life.  Don’t give them so much thought that you have to tweet about them on twitter so much.

It’s like how people are so upset about gay people and they tweet so many negative things about being gay. Who cares! Gay people don’t have any impact in your way of life so why are you giving them so much thought?

You know, when all of these anti-gay republicans started getting caught in gay scandals, it started to make me think that anyone who is anti-gay must be gay because their whole career ends in a gay scandal. So I’m wondering if all of these anti-atheist people must really be questioning their own religious views, otherwise they wouldn’t be bothered by atheists so much.

So this is my theory, all of those anti-atheists are really in the closet atheists and they just don’t want to admit it so they are taking out their aggression on all the atheists to cover up their own atheism.  Let that one sink in and get back to me, or don’t, who cares, I don’t.

Better Than Me?

In the season finale of Kathy Griffin’s My Life on the D-List, she was getting a star on the Palm Springs walk of er… fame?  She was visiting Suzanne Summers and they were walking through her “organic” garden and Suzanne was basically beating up Kathy for drinking diet sodas.

I know it seems that in all of my posts I’m talking trash but I’m not telling anyone that I’m better than they are because I have TONS of faults.  I’m not perfect, nobody is.  And people who eat healthy certainly are not better yet they act like they are better than everyone else.  Vegetarians too.  They act so superior because they don’t eat meat and you are such a horrible person for eating a hamburger.

It’s arrogant for anyone who eats organic or vegetarian to think that they are better than everyone else and to me it just shouts douchebag alert.  When I saw Suzanne basically making Kathy feel bad for sneaking in diet soda at her party it made me cringe because she has no right to tell anyone what they can and cannot drink.  It’s like the arrogance of Christians for telling gay people they cannot get married.

Wow, how did I sneak that in there?  LOL

Edit: I have to make a correction in this post.  Ok 1st, it was wrong for me to say douchebag alert.  And 2nd, a person does have the right to say that you cannot sneak something into their house because it is “their” house after all and if they don’t want something in then you shouldn’t bring it in.  Talk about arrogant.  I was being arrogant in both cases.  I truly am sorry.

Easter

It’s that time of year again where all the kids of America gorge themselves on hard-boiled eggs and chocolate rabbits.  For Christians, Easter is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ but for children it’s the celebration of the Easter Bunny coming to bring them baskets filled with cavities and egg farts.

It’s a joyous occasion for all, whether they be christians, pagans, atheists and children because no matter what you believe, you still get to eat junk food for the day then ham for dinner and then ham sandwiches for the next few days afterwards.

I’ve been enjoying Easter for the last 2 months since the stores took down the Valentine’s day goodies and started putting the Easter candy in.  My dentist loves the business that I give him.

Prop 8 Undecided

I’m still waiting to find out about prop 8.  I heard that it’s 55% for yes and 45% for no which is not good news but they said that it would probably end up in court again.  This issue is never going to die.  The christians are going to constantly be against us and it just shows gay people that we are still very much hated and we have so many more years before we will ever be accepted.  It just makes me so sick to my stomach that the people that I thought liked me ended up voting yes on this issue.  It let’s me know who really like me and who doesn’t and I will never look at them the same again.  I will also never step foot in a church again as long as I live knowing every single one of them voted yes on this.  A yes vote on prop 8 is a vote against gay people in general.  You can argue with me all you want but you know it’s true.
