PlayStation Store

Wow I just read on the PlayStation Blog that the PlayStation Portable is going to get a firmware upgrade to 5.0 which will allow you to go to the PlayStation Store using the PSP to buy and download games, demos, wallpaper, themes etc.  All you have to do is sign in to your account and they keep your credit card info so you just buy something and you don’t need to worry about entering your credit card info.  Which is actually dangerous unless you have a very good password with at least 20 digits with random letters, numbers and symbols.

Ok so I just went to the PlayStation Store website and it says that the website is going to be down until late October cause they are totally redesigning the website so you can download to your PSP or PS3.  How will they make any money if their website isn’t operational for 2 weeks?  LOL.

Wow I just read the full blog and they are also adding a full keyboard for texting instead of like a phone.  That’s pretty cool and I can’t wait for that.  It will make texting on the PSP much easier I think.  They are also adding a sleep timer that can be used for playing music on the PSP.  I am not quite sure what that means, maybe if you set it for 1 hour then in 1 hour the PSP goes into sleep mode so you don’t waste your battery.  Like if you must have music on when you go to bed.  I actually like that idea because I do like to hear music when I go to sleep but don’t want it to run all night.

Wet Dog

Flower got a bath today and it was about time.  I went to lay down next to her and she smelled really bad.  She was so pissed off at me for daring to put her in water and she tried getting away lol.  She was fine though in the kitchen sink and I got her all cleaned up and since she barely has any hair it wasn’t hard to dry her.  Just a towel over her and she’s done.

After her bath she was running around the house like a crazy dog.  She was mostly running away from me lol.  I put her on the bed and she ran over to where the bunched up comforter is and burrowed into it and peeked her head out so I could see that she wasn’t pleased lol.  Now it’s back to sleep for her.

Slim Fast Optima

I was very happy when I found out that Slim Fast Optima had an appetite suppressant that lasted 4 hours because I needed an appetite suppressant. I’m usually so hungry all the time and I needed something that would keep me from eating all the time so I can lose some weight. However, I was most unhappy to find that I was unable to go to sleep at night.

I would take a sleeping pill and it wouldn’t even take effect at all. I would end up taking another one and still nothing. I would take 4 sleeping pills and still no effect and it would keep me up until 3 or 4am and I would be laying in bed wishing I could go to sleep but I had so much energy even at 4am. This stuff is like speed lol.

However I didn’t put 2 and 2 together right away, I had no idea it was the slim fast until I stopped using the slim fast all day yesterday and I was able to go to sleep last night with no problems. And today around 6pm I got sleepy so I took a nap and was asleep until 9pm. Which is good because I missed dinner.

Well, I wanted to because we ate Hometown Buffet for lunch and I ate more than I should have. I had a salad and then my 2nd plate I had roast beef, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. Then I had a little bowl of non fat ice cream with a little piece of mousse which I couldn’t eat all of because I was so full. I guess I will try to lay off the Slim Fast for a while or maybe take it early in the morning for breakfast and then again for lunch then that’s it for the rest of the day, see if that helps.

Weight Loss

When I quit smoking in 1996 I gained weight. A lot of weight. About 50lbs. And over the years it has grown. I’ve gone on diets and I’ve never really lost that much weight and when I did lose it, I ended up gaining it back.

One time I lost 40lbs and didn’t even realize it until I weighed myself and then I started gaining it back. Well, I’ve gotten so heavy that I went to 243lbs. I was originally 150lbs when I first quit smoking. I was very comfortable at 150lbs and I was happy but 243 is just too much so I went back on a diet.

I’ve so far lost 20lbs and hope to continue this quest of losing weight. I’m using 2 different programs, SparkPeople.com and Slim Fast. I like the slim fast optima because it curbs my appetite for 4 hours. I don’t get up early, I get up at noon, I don’t know why. But I do and so I wake up and have a chocolate shake then 4 hours later I have vanilla shake then at 6pm I eat dinner that is usually a recipe from Spark People.

At 8pm I will have a strawberry shake because I’m usually hungry again by that time so the shake controls my appetite until it’s bed time. Unfortunately I can’t go to sleep until 2am. The last shake would normally wear off by midnight but I try my best to not eat. If I have to I’ll eat a Slim Fast candy bar hehe. Those have the optima too. Well, I’m hoping to be 200lbs by the end of summer at least and then 150lbs by my next birthday.

Sparking Up Again

In October 2007 I was on the SparkPeople diet which is really not a diet but they teach you how you should be eating the right foods and the right portions. They tell you what foods to eat which include the food pyramid and you eat veggies and drink water all day long and you tell them exactly what you ate and they tell you how many calories, carbs, fats etc you had for the day.

This is really helpful in losing weight. It’s not a diet because you are eating foods you are supposed to be eating anyway. You can eat snacks just as long as they aren’t too fatty or have a lot of calories. Eating an apple for a snack is good, or carrots, hey my mom used to give that to us for snacks and celery with peanut butter. And they tell you to exercise and you can log your cardio exercises in there so it can tell you how many calories you have to burn 3 days a week. The program has 4 stages too.

In October 2007 something changed in my life a few weeks after I started this diet and I ended up slacking off because I was too depressed to continue with it. I started out on October 1st at 225lbs and lost about 13lbs. Since I quit I gained 30+lbs.

I can’t tell you how much I need to lose this weight. I am having trouble breathing, my back is breaking all the time from carrying around 93lbs of extra weight, I have sleep apnea, if I don’t get thin I will be diabetic and that is no joking matter. I need this to work.

I’m going to try to get a jump rope today because apparently that is really good cardio. I was using the treadmill a couple years ago and the calorie loss in 1 hour is the same or more for 30 min of jumping rope. When I was a kid I jumped rope for hours so hopefully I can get back into it and lose the weight.

Bee Sting

I let Flower go potty in the back yard and I came back in and watched Big Brother on the computer and I left her out there for a good 40 minutes. When I came back out there to go get her, she was limping and whimpering.

We looked at her foot and her pad was red on her front left foot. We immediately took her to the vet and they took out the bee sting and gave her a shot of Benadryl. She will be sleeping for a while (let’s hope hehe) so hopefully she can sleep it off and not keep licking it. Give it time to heal you know?
