E-Cigarette For Weight Loss!

Ok so last week I wrote about this website called Zeus eJuice which is a company that a friend of mine and her husband run.  They make this e-liquid for those electronic cigarettes in awesome flavors.  Cause when you smoke, you don’t want to have 2 choices, regular or menthol, you want some really neat flavors.

I quit smoking in 1996, but a few years ago I bought a pack of cigarettes because even though I didn’t want to start smoking again, I kinda missed it.  Luckily I couldn’t keep doing it because it was hard to inhale the smoke, I don’t mean mentally, it was physically difficult.  I don’t know if it was because I wasn’t used to it.  It didn’t hurt, I just couldn’t breathe it in as easily as I was able to when I did smoke.  I smoked one here and there, but luckily I didn’t pick the habit back up.

After I blogged about Zeus E-Juice, I really started to think about the health benefits of “vaping” and I wrote another post about that.  I had looked up videos on Vaping on YouTube and I have been researching websites to find out if vaping is a good way to lose weight because I am over 100lbs overweight, half of which is from when I quit smoking.  I have found so many testimonies from people claiming that they have lost weight after vaping with the sweet flavors, they no longer desire to go out and buy sweet treats which in turn has helped them lose weight.  It especially helps those who are trying to quit smoking to lose weight instead of gaining it when they quit like I did.

I didn’t want to rush into buying anything, but I figured I have the money now, and I know I want to at least try it and see if it works, so I bought one.  If this doesn’t work then I can send the kit to someone who wants to quit smoking.  But if it does work, then I will keep using it to help me lose all of this weight.  I am really sick of being fat.

So here is the e-cigarette that I bought online.  I went to eBay and this came up.  It was only $32.75 and it is being shipped to me for free.  I believe it’s coming from Singapore, so that was surprising that it was free shipping.  It has a battery indicator so you know whether it needs to be charged or not.  It is said to have a 3-5 day charge, but I don’t plan on vaping it all the time, only when I get a sweet tooth.  According to the description, I am getting 2 e-cigarettes.  These things don’t last long so one of them is a backup.  I am also getting 5 cartridges that are Marlboro flavor, which I will probably dump into the sink and fill with the e-liquid I bought from Zeus e-Juice.  I don’t want the nicotine, I just want the flavor. Here are the flavors I am getting.

I also ordered Toasted Marshmallow, but I guess they couldn’t fit that into the image.  But everything is ready to go and I look forward to tasting these flavors.  None of these flavors have any nicotine so there is no risk of habit.  The good part of vaping is that there isn’t any tar, tobacco and the thousands of chemicals that you have in your cigarettes.  You aren’t getting smoke into your lungs, you are getting vapor, hence the term vaping.

Weight gain is a concern for all who quit smoking and that was what happened to me when I did quit smoking.  I gained 50lbs within the first 2 or 3 months.  The reason is because I was eating sunflower seeds all day long.  I figured the hand to mouth motion would help me, but I didn’t consider that the sunflower seeds were fattening.  They are fine in moderation, but if you are eating nothing but sunflower seeds all day long, you’re gonna gain weight.  I was also rewarding myself with ice cream and we were eating fast food every day.  You can’t reward yourself for quitting a bad habit because you are only giving yourself another bad habit.

I struggled with those 50lbs for the first few years, but then gave up and have gained another 50lbs and haven’t been able to lose it.  Oh I have tried many times.  I’ve taken diet pills, I have bought a belt that you put around your stomach and zip up and I have ridden my bicycle 22 miles a day.  I even went to the gym in 2005, but that didn’t work out too well.  The reason all of these things didn’t work out for me is because I was still eating junk.  The only way weight loss can happen is if you are changing your eating habits and exercising.  You can lose weight with diet change or with exercising, but it’s really difficult unless you are doing both at the same time.

So, my plan of attack is to start vaping when I get a sweet tooth or when I get hungry.  Cut out the coffee and vape the caramel cappuccino flavor instead.  Replace my drinks with water and eat healthier foods.  I also plan to start riding my bicycle again after I have lost enough weight to where I can ride my bike again.  I have gone over the weight limit lol.

So naturally I will keep this blog updated on my progress.  I will post again when I get the ecigarette and post my findings on the tastes too.

Possible Weight Loss and Health Benefits With E-Cigarettes

I have been thinking about Vaping a lot lately.  Not just for the benefit of smoking an e-cigarette, but to help me lose weight.  What if you could lose weight simply by “vaping” with an electronic cigarette?  Here me out on this one because I’m really seriously wondering if it would help.

When I smoked cigarettes as a teenager and in my 20’s, I wasn’t always hungry because as we all know, cigarettes are an appetite suppressant.  Although I did still eat food, I just didn’t eat as much, I especially didn’t eat as many sweets as I do as an ex-smoker.  When I quit smoking in 1996, I gained 50lbs almost within the first few months because I had replaced the bad habit with another bad habit, ice cream, twinkies, donuts and sunflower seeds.  All of a sudden I had a craving for everything sweet that I denied myself when I smoked.  Here we are 16 years later and I am over 100lbs overweight and I can’t seem to lose weight at all.  I have been able to maintain it, but every so often it goes up a bit.

This company named Zeus E-Juice sells E-Liquid for your Ego E-cigarettes in many sweet flavors.  I was wondering if perhaps that might cure my sweet tooth so I’m not going to the store and buying junk food.  I try to stay away from junk food because I am diabetic now, so I’m not supposed to have any sugar, but that doesn’t stop me.  If I “Vaped” with sweet tasting E-Liquid, would that take away my cravings altogether so I can lose weight? I mean, I just want the sweet taste in my mouth, you know?  But we all know that I’m not going to chew on something sweet just for the taste and then spit it out into a napkin.

I did a Google search and I think I might have found my answer.  Someone asked the very same question in an e-cigarette forum.  Vaping to help with diet urges…  Here are a couple of short responses.

  • Some people have reported losing weight after starting to vape, some haven’t. It’s not really intended for that purpose. But to each their own.
  • Look up Steeljan on Youtube and shoot her a message. She actually started vaping as a way to curb sweet cravings and lose weight.  (I intend on asking her)
  • Since beginning vaping there have been no more trips to the snack machine at work or stopping at the convenience store for a snack while driving. That alone has helped and although I haven’t stepped on the scale the trousers are a little more comfortable.
  • I smoked (quit) about 30 years ago and have been dying for a cig ever since. Even dreaming I took up smoking again. Long story short, I heard about vaping about a month ago and bought them at a gas station for my smoker son. I started vaping too and LOVE it. Needless to say, I no longer buy them at the gas station!! I have also been dieting for a year and took off 30 pounds. I haven’t weighed myself in a while but I CAN tell you that vaping keeps me from snacking. btw…I also have asthma and I have no shortness of breath vaping. The best news is my son hasn’t had a cig since vaping either!

Those are certainly the responses I was hoping for.  The only problem now is, why would I want to start vaping if I don’t smoke and have no current urges to smoke?  Well, you can buy the e-liquid with NO nicotine and as far as I know there are no risks of addiction, but at the same time I don’t know that for a fact.  I mean, if I vape only when I have a craving, there is no harm in that, right?  I’m sure a puff or a toot, as I heard someone say on YouTube, a few times a day isn’t going to cause an addiction.  It’s just going to curb the cravings, right?

So this is my question if anyone will respond.  Is it a good or a bad idea for me to start vaping for this very reason?  Do you think it will actually help me lose weight?  Your responses are greatly appreciated.

I quit smoking in 1996 for many reasons.  I was sick and tired of the gross taste of cigarettes and it was getting way too expensive.  I would never recommend buying cigarettes to anyone, until now.

I have known about e-Cigarettes since they first arrived on the scene.   E-Cigarettes are more acceptable to smoke indoors because you aren’t blowing smoke out of your mouth for others to breathe, it’s all vapor, which is where the term “Vape” comes in.

A friend has introduced me to something that I wasn’t ever expecting to see.  Flavored juice that you vape.  So if you have a Ego e-cigarette, you can buy the juice and pour it directly into the cartridge and you get some awesome flavors instead of the standard gross flavor of a cigarette.

Naturally I wasn’t aware of how it worked so I had to do some research.  I looked at a video of a guy who showed a chest x-ray from 2008 compared to a chest x-ray from 2011 and his lungs were cloudy in 2008, but they were clear in the 2011 after vaping for a couple of years.  So the health benefit is there for those who are concerned about that.  You can also adjust how much nicotine you are getting when you buy Zeus E-Juice.  If you are a heavy smoker, you can get the 18MG or whatever it is that your cigarettes contain, and then every week or so when you place your order for another bottle, just add less nicotine until you aren’t getting any nicotine at all.  Now if that isn’t a great way to kick the habit, I don’t know what is.
