Give Yourself Liposuction At Home

Wow, now you can buy a product that you can use on YOURSELF so you can give YOURSELF liposuction.  What could go wrong?

Laser Liposuction System | Cellulite Treatment | Slimray Lipo Laser System | Fat Loss – UNLINKED

I was on Facebook and saw this ad for this.  It says it’s a risk free trial so I guess if you don’t lose any weight from it you can just send it back and get a full refund.  By the way it only costs $379.95 plus shipping, not sure about any taxes.

What it does according to their website is it melts the fat cells and the more you use it the more fat cells will melt.  You feel it right away and you can lose inches of fat every week that you use it.

But with all these things on the market are you willing to drop almost $400 on yet another gadget?  Maybe if I had $400 to spare then yeah I might but I don’t.  So I guess diet and exercise are going to have to do for now.  But it does look neat though, I mean, well the thought of being able to do that.

Edit: It appears that this website is gone for good.  Perhaps they didn’t make the money they wanted for their product so they stopped selling it online.  Who knows for sure.

How To Change A Dell DJ Battery

I just posted this video on YouTube.  It’s sort of a tutorial on how to change the battery in a Dell DJ-20.

httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svD_W3PCrSc

I got this for Christmas in 2004 but it didn’t actually arrive until the middle of January 2005 so technically the day I got it is when the warranty started.  Over the next year the battery would start to die so when I charge it it’s supposed to have 8 hours of battery life but that started going down more and more until it wouldn’t even turn on at all.

I called Dell about getting a new battery but since my warranty had lapsed (they never contacted me to renew it, I didn’t think to call them because I thought I had a 2 year warranty, that’s what I chose when we bought it through their website) so they refused to help me.  I told the person I was talking to that I basically had a $318 paper weight.  The guy said yeah I understand but without a warranty there is nothing we can do.  I asked about buying a new battery, they wanted like $75 for a new one.  I couldn’t afford that.

So it sat in a drawer until September 2008 when I wanted to start riding my bike for exercise.  I didn’t want to ride without my tunes so I went on eBay and found a battery for a Dell DJ-20.  Unfortunately it was .50mm too wide and it would’ve ended up costing me more than the battery was worth to send it back so I said screw it, I’ll make it work.

In this video I will demonstrate how to remove the old one and put in the new one.  Although mine I couldn’t put it in so I had to tape it to the back.  But it works and that’s all that matters.  I actually put the Dell DJ into a neoprene camera case to protect it.

I don’t know why but when I was video taping myself doing this my hands all of a sudden got so shaky.  I was kinda afraid of breaking it when pulling the old battery out even though I had to put it in for this video and then take it back out lol.  I knew what I was doing because I did it before but I got nervous all of a sudden I guess.

Anyway, for those people who have been searching for this, here you go.  I would’ve embedded the video in here but it just looks better at the YouTube website since it’s widescreen.

Big City Slider Station

I got the Big City Slider Station today.  It was a lot smaller than I had thought it would be.  But that’s fine.  It looks neat.  I haven’t been able to use it yet because I don’t have any ground meat.  I need to get to the store.

I’ve read several blog’s about how crappy this device is and what a complete waste of $20 it is.

This one person said that when she opened her BCSS she smelled it and it had an unpleasant odor.  I didn’t smell mine but I washed it right away in warm soapy water.  The instructions say hot soapy water though.  It was hotter than regular warm so that’s good enough I guess.  But this person also said that she put it on the stove for 15 minutes by itself with no burgers in it to remove all the germs or what not.  Well, I read the instructions and it clearly states not to put it on the stove without anything in it.  And you have to cook the burgers on medium, not high.  It also says not to cook it on a halogen or quartz stove surfaces yet in the commercial they are using the glass stove top.

Another person said that when he was biting into his mini burger he saw some silver on his burger and shouted STOP EATING! because the teflon was attached to the burgers.  I’m sorry but you would notice that when you finish cooking them before putting them on the buns.

Another person said that he cooked like 70 or so mini burgers for a party, just batch after batch after batch.  When he was done it was pretty nasty and he said he had to use a Brillo pad (or something like it) to clean it.  The first rule when cleaning Teflon is no wire cleaning tools that can scratch the Teflon.  Everyone knows that.

Well, the cooking time of this thing is 2-4 minutes on medium and I don’t think that after the 3rd batch the Teflon is going to start coming off if you are using it right.  That’s what another person said, after the 3rd batch it started coming off and onto the burgers.  That’s only 12 minutes of use so if that happens to them after 12 minutes of use then I’m going to guess they are cooking it on high and leaving it on the stove for long periods of time without cooking anything in it.

But, I’m going to take all these comments that I’ve read into consideration and I’m not going to cook with it.  I’m going to use it as a burger press then lay the 5 burgers on a piece of wax paper, put wax paper on top of the burgers, then add 5 more stacked and so on then put it all in a gallon zip lock bag.  The one that you suck the air out.  This way I can have maybe 30 or so mini burgers frozen and ready to use whenever I get the urge to eat some.  And I plan on cooking them with a skillet.  I know that Billy Mayes thinks that people who cook their mini burgers on a skillet are all morons who can’t cook but I’ve done pretty good cooking burgers on a skillet my whole life, I think that I’ll be ok.

Big City Slider Station

Have you seen this commercial on TV with Billy Mayes?  He’s selling this thing called Big City Slider Station and it’s this neat little gadget that you scoop up some meat and put it inside the 5 compartments and you press with the lid and then you put it on the stove burner and it cooks 5 mini burgers from the outside in.  It only takes 2 minutes so you can cook more immediately.

One thing that I have learned about teflon is that when you are finished using the teflon pan, just leave it on the counter or stove top.  Do not put it in water right away.  If you don’t let the pan cool down on its own then it could warp the teflon and then it starts to peel off.  I have made this mistake but it’s because I didn’t know.  Well, I now know so I will be comfortable using this as long as I don’t drop it into the sink immediately.

Here is a funny clip I found on YouTube.  Enjoy.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is a product that does exactly what it says it does on the commercials.  Wow, I just never knew that it would work that well.  Darrin doesn’t like buying things that he sees on the commercials because 9 times out of 10 they don’t do what they say they are supposed to do because you can usually buy the generic brand and it does the same exact thing.

Our tenant next door left the house just filthy when he moved out.  It took me 2 hours yesterday to clean out the refrigerator.  The freezer was completely covered in mold because his electricity got shut off.  There was this one spot on the fridge door that was just so beyond gross.  It was a build up of something, I don’t know what.  All I know is that it was so gross and it would not come up.

I gotta go back there today after I eat my lunch and clean the stove top and the oven so I bought some oven cleaner and I bought a package of magic erasers because I know if anything will clean that stove it will be the magic erasers.

I just did a test with 1 of the 2 that were in the package on our stove.  There are these certain spots that I just cannot get clean.  Although, when I try it’s usually with just a wash cloth and soapy water from the dish soap so in all fairness I’m not really trying that hard.  But the magic eraser got it all up real fast and the stove was sparkling clean.  Wow, I just couldn’t believe it.  With very little effort too.  Just amazing.

I’m going to have these on hand from now on because this is an amazing product that does exactly what they say it will do.  In a world of false advertising, it’s nice to see a company who is actually telling you the truth.

Dell DJ Battery Fixed

My friend Alyce bought me a Creative Versa-Tool Kit as a gift which I totally didn’t expect her to do.  It has many uses such as wood burning, soldering, cutting, stamping, embossing, shaping (wax) etc.

I’ve wanted one to solder my Dell DJ battery wires because they snapped off.  I was finally able to fix it so now I can start riding my bike again on the bike path. I can start losing weight again yay.  That is if I am able to buy a new wheel soon.  Now is the perfect time to start riding again because the weather is nice.

Disposable Hearing Aids

I saw a commercial for this new product called Songbird Disposable Hearing Aides.  It lasts for 400 hours of active use and lasts up to 6 months.  I guess when you can’t hear anymore because the batteries have died then you just buy a new pair.

Ok, first of all, why not just change the batteries?  Why do you have to buy a new pair?  These hearing aides cost $80 for a pair.  That’s $160 per year.

I’m trying to think of the pros and the cons of this.  On one hand I guess it is good to get a new pair every so often, maybe once every couple or few years but not every 6 months.  Why can’t they last a whole year?

If you had to buy a regular pair of hearing aides from your doctor that can cost $5000 which is a good reason to buy the Songbird because paying $160 a year is saving you a lot of money.  Especially if you… god forbid… pass away in a few years.  But I mean, if you are born hard of hearing or you develop hearing problems from your iPod in your teens, 20’s or 30’s then you are going to need it for the rest of your life.  Yeah, $5000 is a lot to spend every few years or whenever you have to buy new ones so $160 a year every year is probably a better use of your money.

My aunt bought hearing aides a few years ago and she had nothing but problems with them and they were the $5000 ones.  She said that sometimes when she was at work and they would talk on the loud speaker it was too loud and she couldn’t hear the customers that great.  And she took them back to the doctor to be adjusted a couple or few times and he was a total douche and would get impatient with her.  Uh, she just dropped 5 G’s on something that she doesn’t even wear out of frustration.  Give the lady a break and adjust them you douche bag.

Oh sorry, did I say all that?  LOL I guess it had to be said.

I think I will suggest the Songbird to my aunt, perhaps she will get better use out of this at the lower cost of $80 every 6 months.  Maybe she won’t need to wear them all the time so she can stretch it out a lot longer since she is retired now and doesn’t need to listen to people bitching about their problems.

Great job Songbird disposable Hearing Aides.  You got my vote.

eBookwise

I went to eBay to find how much the Kindle 1 cost used and it’s not that much cheaper.  I did find this though. eBookwise 1150 Reading Device for $135.95 +$10 shipping.  It has a sad 64mb of internal memory but you can add more with SmartMedia Memory Cards, up to 128MB.

Go ahead and read their website from that link above.  I’m thinking that if I am able to save the money for the Kindle 3 by the time it comes out and I still can’t buy it or it still doesn’t have the features I want then to heck with it, I’ll just buy this one.  Or I might just save up for eBookwise e-reader to use as a test e-reader and use it until the kindle goes down in price.  There is no sense in spending money I can’t afford to spend on something I probably won’t be able to use that often.  And if I bought books on this new one I’m almost positive I can transfer them over to Kindle if I do decide to get one of those.  Then I can give the eBookwise to Darrin.

Hehe I’m always giving him my hand me down electronics.

Satellite Clock

I bought this satellite clock from Publisher’s Clearing House last year because I wanted to increase my chances of winning money hehe.  I know, buying doesn’t increase your chances blah blah blah.

So I’ve always wanted a satellite clock ever since they came out but I really don’t NEED a satellite clock that much so I just never bought one.  I don’t really look at a regular clock, I always look at a cell phone or the cable box or the clock on the computer and all those clocks are basically satellite clocks.

I didn’t have an alarm clock though so I bought this from PCH.  I haven’t had it long enough for it to require a time change from the stupid twice a year time change.  Right now it’s “Spring Forward” but my clock didn’t spring forward like it’s supposed to.  I took a picture to show that it is still at 11am when it should be 12pm.  I put it outside and pressed the sync button to see if it syncs or not.  Here is a picture of what it looks like so you can beware not to waste your money on it.

satellite-clock

The only way that the camera was able to take a picture of this so you can see the display was from an angle.  In fact, the only way I can see what time it is is to tilt it so I can see it from this angle.  Otherwise the LCD display looks blank.  It always looks like the batteries are dying even though it has brand spanking new batteries in it.  It does have a lovely blue light when you press the snooze button so you can see it better in the dark.

I could set it manually but that’s not way I bought it.  I bought it so I wouldn’t have to.  I’m going to go check on it to see if it’s changed or not.  It’s been out there for about 10 minutes….  OK good, I just went and got it and the time has indeed changed to the current time according to my cable box.  It is currently 12:23pm.

It would be nice if it set itself in the house and I wouldn’t have to take it outside to have it set itself properly.  But you know, it’s only twice a year and during battery changes that I have to deal with this crap.  So I guess I take it back.  Buy it but beware, you have to tilt it to see what time it is and you have to take it outside to sync with the satellites.
