The Event on NBC

The new series “The Event” was on tonight. I knew it had Zeljko Ivanek from Heroes and True Blood but I had no idea that Scott Patterson (Luke) from Gilmore Girls and Wes Ramsey (future Wyatt) from Charmed would be in it.

This show sort of confused me because they kept going into the past for different people to show why something lead to whatever was happening in the present.  I sure hope the entire series isn’t going to be that way but I have a feeling it is.  I’m sure I can cope lol.

I didn’t want to add any more shows but it’s on right after Chuck which I was going to watch anyway so I figured since Heroes is gone I might as well replace it with The Event considering one of the Heroes characters is in it (Zeljko Ivanek).

I’m not real into shows that have mundane people in it unless they have some odd or magical ability but I don’t know that this show doesn’t.  Considering what happened at the end, I’d venture to say that this has something supernatural in it.  Although I don’t know what just yet, I’m sure it will be revealed soon.

I can’t say this show will hold my attention for an entire season but I can’t say that it won’t either.  If the back and forth into time starts to get too confusing I might abandon it because I’m confused enough as it is lol.

The Direction of Heroes

Season 1 of Heroes was fantastic.  I just loved it so much because it’s right up my alley.  I love anything that is strange and supernatural.  Something that is not normal.  And this show has nothing but abnormalities.

Season 2 came along and it ended in the middle of the season thanks to the writer’s strike.  The creator/writer of the show didn’t like the direction he was going, it was ok to me but he decided to end it and go for a season 3 and try to fix things.

Season 3 comes and it just goes in a totally different direction that I’m not sure I like.  Nathan is capturing people with abilities and holding them as prisoners?  What?  He has abilities.  What makes him so special?  Why doesn’t Hiro have his ability and why can’t Peter hold onto more than 1 power at a time like before?  That was the thing I liked about Peter and Hiro, their ability.  Also, it screws up the future because Peter came from the future to the past to change things and he had all his abilities that he had before.  If they are going to change the present then they have to change the future to reflect the present.

I hope that they put things back to the way they were because I’m about to stop watching it.  Ok, you know I won’t.  I love Sylar too much to stop watching lol.  Him and his long thick black eyebrows hehe.

I Can Do 2 Shows…

I was worried when we got Digital cable that because we had to have a cable box that I would have trouble when I have 2 shows on at the same time.  Without a cable box I can record 1 show on my dvd recorder and watch another show on another channel by hitting the tv/vcr button.  But with a cable box, the dvd recorder only records what is currently on the cable box channel since the tv is always on channel 3.  There is no getting around that.  Forget being able to record ever again.

But, thank goodness for the internet because if I have a show on ABC and NBC at the same time I can just go to that networks website and watch the show on my computer.  Last night I had 2 shows, both on at 8pm.  Pushing Daisies on ABC and Knight Rider on NBC so I watched Pushing Daisies last  night then this morning I watched Knight Rider at the NBC website.

Unfortunately, not all networks do that.  Well, mostly they do but like the CW channel, last year I missed a couple of episodes of Smallville and Supernatural and they had all their other shows on their website but those 2 they didn’t for some reason.  I ended up having to download them via emule.

The networks that do have their shows on their website “on demand” they keep the current season on there from episode 1.  Heroes for example, when season 2 began they removed all of season 1.  Since season 3 has already begun they have totally removed season 2 except for the last episode of that season.  I don’t know why keep the last episode, maybe so people can catch up first.

The point of this blog was to establish the fact that I’m happy I can watch my shows if I miss them hehe.

Heroes

September 22nd 2008 is the season premiere of Heroes on NBC.  From 8-9pm is going to be a countdown where the cast and crew talk about the show then from 9-11pm is the season premiere episode.  I read at TV.com that it is going to be 2 hours but from 8-10 and that really pisses me off that they said that because if I had to go somewhere for whatever reason I would’ve set my dvd recorder to record from 8-10 instead of 8-11 then I would’ve missed the last hour of the show.

Ok, maybe I’m blowing it out of proportion because if I do miss a show I’m just gonna go to hulu to rewatch it.  I’m just sayin’.  Don’t give people the wrong info ya know?  Especially die hard fans lol.

If it weren’t for my friend Sue I would’ve never known.

New Season of Shows – Fall 2008

Finally summer is nearly over and my shows can come back.  This season I have shows 6 days a week again.  Mostly I have 1 show a night but some nights there are 2 shows.

Sunday: I only have 1 show and that’s True Blood on HBO.  If for some reason I miss it I don’t have to worry because of HBO On Demand.

Monday: Heroes and Chuck are coming back for season 2.  I also watch Medium on CBS but that show starts in January 2009.

Tuesday: As of right now I have nothing on for Tuesdays but Reaper is supposed to be coming back in January 2009.

Wednesday: I have 2 shows on at the same time on different networks.  Knight Rider which will be on NBC and Pushing Daisies which is on ABC.  I watched the first season of Pushing Daisies so I’m gonna have to choose that over Knight Rider but thank goodness there is such a thing as On Demand because I will be able to watch Knight Rider on the NBC website whenever I want to.

Thursday: Smallville & Supernatural.  Those 2 shows I’ve watched since they began so naturally I’m going to watch these.  I read this will be the last season for Smallville.  It was supposed to be Clark Kent’s childhood (or teenage years) and he’s way past 21 so it looks like it’s nearly time for Superman to emerge on the scene which will mean the end of Smallville.

Friday: Ghost Whisperer.

Ok, so I was wrong when I said 6 days of shows, well, half wrong because Reaper is coming back in January so only half of the season will be 5 days a week.  That is unless there’s another strike preventing me from watching shows then they get canceled lol.  I don’t think it will happen again for another 10 or 20 years since the last strike was 20 years ago.

New 2008 Fall Season

The new fall season begins next week and it’s the perfect timing because Tuesday night is the last night for Big Brother. Monday will be the last night for Big Brother on Showtime after dark so I can start watching Eureka on Tuesdays at the regular time and Ghost Hunters on Wednesday at the regular time. Those 2 shows repeat so in case there is another show on at the same time I can watch the repeat. Here are the shows I will be watching:

Mondays: Heroes and Chuck both on NBC
Wednesdays: Knight Rider at 8pm on NBC, Pushing Daisies at 8pm on ABC.
Thursdays: Smallville and Supernatural both on CW
Fridays: Ghost Whisperer

I’m very disappointed that Reaper isn’t on the list because that was a very good show.  Wednesday nights are going to be difficult because I watched Pushing Daisies last season so I’m going to watch that on ABC.  I wanted to see Knight Rider but it’s on at the same time as Pushing Daisies so I’m gonna have to watch Knight Rider on the NBC website or I’ll just have to download that one and put it on DVD’s.  Another show that I like to watch is Medium but that doesn’t start until January.

Edit: I just read at www.tv.com that Reaper will air mid-season which looks like January like Medium.  So this means in January things will change because there will be 2 shows being added and those 2 shows might clash with another show I have which means I will probably end up having to either watch those shows the next day on their websites or download them.

Lego Indiana Jones

I got my Lego Indiana Jones for PSP game today and got a free t-shirt. This game is fun just like Lego Star Wars is. I’m really glad I got a PSP because it’s so cool.

I also bought some artist stuff at Michael’s. I bought “Cartooning Kit for Dummies” and it came with 6 colored pencils, 6 markers which are basically the same colors as the pencils, an eraser and a pencil sharpener. I was disappointed in the pencils because they were very difficult to erase. A regular pencil works better.

It also comes with a little 5×7 sketching pad with 50 sheets. The book is lame, it’s not even a book it’s more of a piece of paper folded a few times. I also bought a book called Superhero Madness which has “45 basic lessons for drawing cool heroes and vile villains”. It’s pretty cool. They also had these booklets that were totally blank so you can create your very own comic book. I bought 2 sizes, a regular typical comic book size and a pocket book size. Each with 28 pages.

I don’t know what I’m going to draw in them but I probably wont use them for a very long time, long enough to know what I’m doing first hehe.
