Game Stop

I haven’t been able to get to Game Stop yet to use my $25 gift card that I got from e-rewards because we haven’t gone to the mall yet.  I don’t want to make a special trip just for this.

I went to Game Stops website to check what they have and to see if it’s in stock or not but I’m sure by the time I get there those games won’t be there anymore.  So… I guess I have to just wait until we get there to see what they have.

I would like Untold Legends (1 of the 2) or Ratchet and Clank.  That game has a Daxter look to it, graphics wise that is.  I do plan on buying used though because it doesn’t matter to me if it’s new or used, they don’t get scratched up like a regular CD or DVD does.

I was hoping that they would have either the GPS or the Camera available by the time I got this but even if it was available I don’t have the money to cover the rest of the cost of it.  At least with used games I can get a couple, or a few depending on the cost.  And if it goes over by a couple of dollars I can certainly cover that.  I wouldn’t ever buy a movie only because I would probably only watch it once, there are only so many movies I’d watch over and over again.

Lego Batman

Lego Batman finally came to Game Stop yesterday and was sold today.  I pre-ordered it on May 1st this year and it was supposed to be available on September 2nd but they pushed it back to September 23rd for some reason.  That’s ok. it’s cool.  I got it now.  Although it was kinda depressing that I got it on Chips birthday because I feel that I got a present on his birthday.  Not fair right?  He should be getting the present not me.

Oh well, if you read my previous post he will be getting another present soon.

Countdown to Lego Batman

There are only 2 more days until Lego Batman is at Game Stop.  That’s Tuesday morning.  Hmm, since I’m blogging this at 9:30 at night, tomorrow is Monday and I will probably get the phone call at lunch time on Tuesday, that should mean there is only a day and half left.

I pre-ordered this in May so I’ve waited all summer for this so I guess you can say I’m pretty excited the day is finally coming.  I really love the Lego series of PSP games.  I have Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones so now I’m adding Lego Batman.  I really hope they don’t stop after this, that they give us more in the Lego series.

I’m hoping for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Superman and or the Justice League.

Skype for PSP

Well, today we went to Game Stop at the mall and bought the “PSP Slim Skype Headset Kit” for $32.16 (after taxes) and made a call to my friend Sue. Darrin talked to her for nearly 45 min but then I was able to talk to her for a while until Big Brother after dark started.

The quality of the phone call was really amazing. I’m able to walk around the house, even go outside, just as long as I stay inside my wi-fi zone. With my regular telephone I get a lot of static because the cordless phone in my room is too far away from the main base in the living room so it’s nice to not have any static. So, I’m going to use my PSP from now on to make phone calls. I usually can’t get on the phone because Darrin is always on the phone hehe.

Skype for PSP

About a month or so ago Sony added Skype to their Sony PlayStation Portable but you have to buy the headset with the microphone and the remote control. Of course not long after that they created the combination for sale. Before you could only buy the headphones with mic by itself and then you’d have to additionally buy the regular headphones (minus the mic) with the remote control. You need the remote control for it to work.

I have started thinking about how maybe it is a good thing because if you have a cell phone and have unlimited calls that’s fine but I don’t. I have a pre-paid cell phone and so my calls cost .40 cents per minute. It’s especially frustrating when I am roaming. I think I should be able to call out for free on a cell phone like everyone else. Of course with Skype it is only free if you call other Skype users, otherwise you can buy time which is like 500 or 600 minutes for $10 which isn’t bad or you can pay $2.95 a month for unlimited calls (which is about 10,000 calls per month, they added that in there).

But you have to be in a wi-fi hotspot to be able to take advantage of that. I don’t know what T-Mobile has for you to use though. I was given a 6 month free wi-fi hotspot thing with the purchase of the PSP which I have not used yet because I don’t take it with me everywhere I go. I’m thinking that maybe the $10 phone card is a good idea cause I probably wouldn’t use it all the time and that 5 or 600 minutes wouldn’t expire after a month, you keep the minutes until you’ve used them up.

As soon as I get the money I’m going to think about getting the headset with mic from Game Stop and then setting an account up for me. I think it’s a good deal. And I want to see what T-Mobile does for PSP users per month.

MY BIRTHDAY!

Yay another birthday has come. This will be my 38th birthday and I’ve been bombarded by emails from all these websites that I’ve joined over the years wishing me a happy birthday. I really love it.

However I know it’s the “computer” that told itself to email me these standard birthday wishes, templates if you will that they send to all their members. In fact they probably send at least 10 or 20 of those on a daily basis.

I don’t mind the impersonal greeting from a robot and the fact that nobody except for my very good friend Chris has sent me a birthday card and I haven’t gotten a card from my entire family.

Maybe its Karma since I forget everyone lol. That’s ok, I really don’t care. In fact I do much prefer getting an email greeting saying hey mike, I wanted to wish you a happy birthday. A e-card isn’t required. It’s the thought that counts you know?

Now I do know for a fact that tomorrow morning I’m going to wake up with the phone ringing and it will be my aunt Betty calling to sing the happy birthday song in my ear. That is going to happen, I already know that. I can’t wait. I would much rather get an email or a phone call than a present or even a card. I just want someone to say hi, I’m thinking about you today because it’s your special day.

I used to tell people on a daily basis that there are so and so amount of days left blah blah blah but I stopped doing that and nobody ever remembers anymore. Maybe that’s my bad lol. Oh well it’s cool.

Tomorrow were buying a cake and were going to cut it in half and bring the other half to Chips cousin Vedra and then we will eat our piece and have an extra piece for dessert for later. Then on Tuesday were going to pick up my birthday present that I pre-ordered from Game Stop called Lego Indiana Jones for the PSP. And while we are in the mall I have a coupon I got from Dairy Queen website from their Blizzard fan club to buy a blizzard and get one free for me. That will be my birthday itinerary hehe.

Games for PSP

We went to the mall today to pay for Chips Sears card and he decided he was going to buy me a game. I kept refusing but we ended up going to the Game Stop and buying a game but we came home and I played it and it was so lame. We are going to return it tomorrow.

I’ve been looking for a game that is similar to Tetris that we can play on the PSP but there are none. Or are there? I found on Amazon.com a game called “Sega Genesis Collection” and it has 28 Sega Genesis games including Sonic the Hedgehog and Columns which is what I had when I had the Sega Game Gear.

Columns is Sega’s version of Tetris which is a little different but it works. The other 26 games sound cool, I’ve never played them so it will give me a chance to see what they were like. It’s cool that there are 28 games on 1 UMD so I don’t have to keep switching the UMD’s. It’s gonna be awesome. And Darrin will finally have a game that he can play. He doesn’t get into all the games but when I got my Game Boy 14 years ago he loved playing Tetris.
